Feedback needed

So - I'm completely re-vamping our website...and I have a few things done so far...and would like some feedback - what do you like - what do you not like...

Before you look - these are the things I'm already working on...
- banner shadowing is kinda funky so fixing it
- site width will be wider by a good bit
- changing layout of broodmares page so you don't have to scroll so much

I just spent a few seconds on there.

It looks like the back ground is nice to look at. But, you cannot see it.. It would look nice with a welcome, the name on your site and a place to enter.. Then look at what you have to offer. Separate your pages.

With all the pages covering the back ground all I wanted to see was the back ground and was not interested in the rest of it..

Bluejay - I changed the background up... ...is that better or worse?

Any suggestions are more than welcome!!!

I like your site, but I love your gray mare, My May Chick I think it is. She is stocky. Does she ride?

No, she had an injury as a 2yo where a piece of wood (splinter) got lodged in her back left ankle - it infected it and caused it to fuse.

She is a super neat mare - fortunately her pedigree is worth a bunch these days! She has some super producing full sisters so we will see what she throws! She's had bad luck the last two years...1 baby died of colic at 33 days and her colt this year died of a ruptured bladder at about 36 hours (the vet doing the surgery botched it and he died on the table)...

Sooooo - we're praying that 2010 results in a healthy, happy foal...on the plus side, those two losses made my father-in-law more aware and when he noticed something not "right" with HIM in early Feb he went straight to the Dr and they were able to do surgery BEFORE he had a massive heart attack! So I guess some good did come out of it (and this man has NEVER had ANY heart issue before)

I also like that grey mare, she kinda reminds me of mine.

I'm thinking just profile shots of each one...maybe a head shot too - but most of them have ugly heads

I liked the first back ground. What I was trying to say is use that with your your ranch name and place to enter your site. Then put the pics on the pages they are associated with..Can just use a nice warm color on those..
