Wouldn't you say this would eliminate the stallion owner from Amateur Exhibitor status....

AQHA Rules...

(5) must not exhibit in open or amateur AQHA classes
horses owned by any third party, but shall only exhibit horses solely
owned by the applicant or the applicant’s family

(d)Payment of entry fees and/or expenses by anyone other than
the amateur, his/her immediate family, or a corporation, partnership
or other business entity in which the amateur and/or a member of
his/her immediate family are the sole and only owner, shall be con-
sidered remuneration except for demonstrations, exhibitions or
international team competitions, where the amateur is a member of
the nationally sponsored team.

NCHA Response.

The Amateur status is a RIDER status and the Amateur can own, partner, invest in and profit from involvement in a syndication, put horses with Open riders, etc…..they just can not RIDE the horse in competition unless they own it and they can not RIDE and WORK horses they don’t own.

so does this mean every investor is considered the "owner" and can hold an Amateur status...hmmmmm

ugh that is so frustrating!
i hate that
technically you cant ride other peoples horses?
technically you cant even offer advice to other people with their horses!
isnt this association suppose to be based on helping others?

regardless. those rules STINK.
i completely agree with you.
we should start something to get it to change.
