| We have just been showing open shows for the past few years, but Brennen wanted to do a QH show. They have an all day fee which covers 3+ classes, office fees and stall, for $80/day. It's a 3 day show. Both Brennen & I would like to show, so $480 for the weekend. Not including meals and gas. We'd be staying in the truck, cause I couldn't afford a hotel room. So I think we'll skip it. Back to planning the open shows for me. At least there I always pay back the entries plus have extra left over for food and gas. OK, so Wade pays for the gas, but you know what I mean. | |

| My sentiments exactly. If it doesn't pay, you don't play. | |

| I was told that is actually fairly cheap for a QH show. I can't imagine the costs involved when running for a title. They don't even have all our classes at this show, and the entries in some of Brennen's classes might not even be enough to get points. No wonder people say only rice people can get high point titles. It costs a bloody fortune to get one. | |

| The last show I went to cost me 200.00 for two halter classes, stall and rv hook up.. That did not include the gas.. | |

| It seems to be pretty much the same here. I'd love to have some points on my horses, but between the costs and the politics, I'd rather go have some fun at the open shows. It'll cost me less to do all the open shows within reasonable driving distance (I'm thinking under 1 1/2 hours) than it will for 1 QH show with both Brennen & I showing. And at the open shows, Taegan can do PeeWee SMS and walk/trot, and Sean can do leadline if I can't persuade Wade to keep them with him. And Brennen & I show in practically every class we can. Keeps us busy, but it's fun. | |
