I have mine due early/mid Feb - I just want a CORRECT foal...with a booty...

My father-in-law has one due mid Feb and one due Early/mid March...

Our colors are pretty much going to be boring

sorrel x bay (mine)
grey x sorrel (fatherinlaw's)
bay x dark brown (fatherinlaw's)

It looks like we have breeding determinations made for next year too!!!!!

sorrel x chestnut
grey mare x bay stallion
bay mare x grey stallion
hehe...Next year we could have all kinds of fun betting on who gets what on the two bays on greys! Laughing

Im are out of Tucker-Palomino

One mare Is a light sorrel Flaxen mane and tail.
the other mare is a Dark Sorrer with a Dark Mane and Tail. Guess we'll see what the Cream Gene does this time!

My mare isnt due until April. She is a bay bred to a creamello. Then next year her boyfriend will be WD To A Shiek he is a Paint.

i want gold,that nice gold stud.But my mare still not sold,dont know whats wrong with the market.

My broodmare due end of may beg of june,probably be a brown just like her as always.

I have one due the mid of Jan and she is bred to Twentyfour Karat Kid. I am hoping for paly.. The other is my loud paint mare bred to Tommy and due early to mid Feb. We are getting ready.. YEA.. The mare bred to the paly is Chad's Mom.. riding

here we have 4 due (with one more being possible... she was checked in foal, but doesnt seem to be anymore).

we also bred 9 outside mares this year...

but for us it is (due from early may to june)

Gemyni (TB) X our stud (Chestnut to pally tovero) = Chestnut, pally, in either overo, tobiano, tovero or solid pattern

Patrons Pippa X our stud (pally tovero X pally Tovero) = chestnut, pally, cremello in either overo, tobiano, tovero or solid pattern.

Merikle X our stud (Chestnut X Pally tovero) = Same as above

Virginia X Our stud (Bay X Pally Tovero) = Bay, Black, sorrel, Pally, Buckskin, Smokey Black, in either overo, tobiano, tovero or solid pattern.

And possibly bred-

Taffy X Our stud (Dun X Pally Tovero) = Sorrel, Bay, Black, Red Dun, Bay Dun, Grullo, Palomino, Buckskin, Smokey Black, Dunskin, Dunalino, or smokey grullo in either overo, tobiano, tovero, or solid pattern.

This will be a good year for us, with the mares we bred, along with our stud being nominated to the breeders trust for 07, and 08, along with the CCF futurities in 08... I am a happy camper.

Nah, a good lookin foal is never boring!

Sorrel X Bay = red, bay, black (depending on agouti status of sorrel, and agouti and black zygosity on the bay)

Grey X Sorrel = ?? Dont know the base color of the grey... ( Depends on the base of the grey... And if he is homo or hetero for gray)

Bay X Dark Brown = Black, sorrel, brown, bay (depending on zygosities)

The roan gene causes mixed white hairs into the horses base coat... they then gave individual names to the base coats with the roan gene to differentiate them.

If your sorrel carries Agouti (what makes a black horse a bay), then you could get (also depending on wether or not the stud is homozygous for roan or black).... ok, makin it complicated here.....

Sorrel (no Agouti) X Blue roan (hetero roan, hetero black)

red, black, red roan, blue roan

Sorrel (hetero Agouti), bred to blue roan (hetero roan, hetero black)

red, bay, black, red roan, bay roan, blue roan

sorrel (homo agouti) bred to blue roan (hetero roan, hetero black)

We're expecting between 4 and 5 foals. Didn't have a good breeding year, what with Pep leaving.
Most are due in March, but one is due in June. Unless we have some Oops babies.
Freckles (sorrel) to Gun (sorrel)- guaranteed sorrel
Vamp (bay) to Gun- already have a sorrel off that cross
Secret (sorrel) to Pep (red dun)- have 1 of each
Whiskey (sorrel w/ tiger stripes, dorsal stripe) to Pep- 2 red duns so far
Cali (bay Tobiano) to Gun- full sister is chestnut

Sandy (buckskin) was bred to Gun, but lost foal
Trouble (chestnut) was bred to Pep, but also lost foal
