BAYER LEGEND TRIALS ON TAP FRIDAY
Los Alamitos Race Course will play host to the 2007 Bank Of America Racing Challenge on Saturday, November 3. The trials to the first California regional of the year will highlight the marquee on Friday night when 17 horses compete in a pair of 400-yard heats to the Bayer Legend California Region Challenge on Friday.
The first division has come up super tough, as multiple stakes winner Czech N Out Ashley will headline this group. Trained by Hector Jaime Hernandez for owner Salvador Salazar, Czech N Out Ashley has won back-to-back stakes races by 3/4 length margins, including the Dillingham Handicap at 400-yards.
Da Edge, who ran in the Ford California Juvenile last season, will also see action in this trial. She won her trial to that regional race and she looks capable of duplicating that feat when she goes against this group. Ridden by Dennis Means for trainer Donna McArthur, Da Edge is out of the champion aged mare Deelish.
Royal Bridlewood is stepping up from the claiming ranks to take part in this trial. Trained by Justin Clark, who is winning at a 52 percent clip, Royal Bridlewood won the Los Alamitos Claiming Stakes Championship for high-level claimers on April 6. Good Jazz, a finalist to the Grade 1 Governor's Cup Futurity, Super Bowl Handicap winner Inkys Zoomer and La Primera Del Ano Derby finalist A Scootin Princess will also see action in this very tough field.
The next trial is also wide open with the Mike Joiner-trained War Chimes leading the way. The son of First Down Dash will face the likes of Fleeting Touch, who ran in last year's Ford California final, and Holy Seis.
