Well, I've been packing up the trailer for Sunday and Monday.



Every year the sheriffs department reinacts the pony express ride from
Houston to Austin all on horseback to hand deliver an invitation for
the Houston Rodeo to the Govenor. We team up in twos and each team is
responsible for 1 mile at a time. Your partner drops you at your point
and you and your horse wait for the rider carrying the batton to come
running up to you for a hand off, then you run your half mile where
your partner is waiting, hand him the batton, load up your horse and
pick him up at the end and then it starts all over again until you end
up in Austin. It's maybe 200 miles??? It is a blast! I'll make sure and
take lots of pics!

Well, after all that, I hope the Govenor is home to answer the door! Whew! LOL!

My horse Ivan and I are helping round up and work our beef herd tomorrow...the high tomorrow will still be in the negetive! I pray I'll still have all my fingers and toes at the end of the day!

OH WOW! Can you take photos along the way? What a great experience. Please explain how you're chosen to do that. What an honor & neat tradition!

MUST HAVE PHOTOS....

I'll take plenty of pictures and post them for everyone. I think the
only criteria to participate is one of the team members has to be a
Texas law enforcement officer. I knew hubby was good for something! LOL

That's SO cool Cindy! I was invited to do one of the HLSR trail rides this year, but it's a little over 80 miles long...AHHH! No way Rudy'd make it, lol. And I'd have to miss school...stupid school!
But that is SUCH a neat tradition, have a blast!
Oh, and at GSWEC today during my show, they were having the HLSR Team Penning-it was so fun to watch! I'm so excited for the rodeo!!!
