| So - my poor broodmare has had a rough life.... She blew out her right knee when she was racing... She then foundered in BOTH front feet with a previous owner... AND she gets really bad abscesses! Soooo - we have been Dr-ing her front left foot for a really deep abscess for about 2-3wks - it has been miserable...poor girlie - oh, and she is due at the end of Feb... Well - I FINALLY broke down and ordered her some BOOTS - Soft-Ride Boots!!!!! They got here yesterday and I put them on her - she is in HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!! They are the coolest things ever - and they WORK!!! She was strollin around without even the slightest limp! She just had the most content look on her face - it was priceless!!! you can see what I'm talking about at www.soft-ride.com | |

| I wish those were around 12 years ago. My mare would have loved to wear those. She had osteomylitis (sp?) in her front right hoof.
Do they make those for us??? lol.

| The pair was $175. They are SUPER easy to get on and off...They fit snugly and don't rub! They can live in them if needed - though lots of horses just wear them in the trailer. My mare gets to live in them. My mare doesn't pick up her right foot very well and it was still REALLY easy to put them on... | |

| I have those soft ride boots, had them for my foundered mare... but I paid a lot more than 175 for the boots and pads.
They didnt quite seem to make that much of a difference for my gal. However they did help some. Make sure to clean them out, those things get icky! lol

| Hmmm - unless you got the dual density pads, you should have only paid $175...that is if they are Soft-Ride and you got them from Soft-Ride...
They have a dual-density that is for founder - it is purple and turquoise, those are relatively new though...
Fortunately they are easy to clean out!!! but hers aren't getting dirty yet!

| I saw those boots last fall. They are AWESOME.. And, if I needed them for one of mine I would get them for sure. That is the only way to go on a foundered horse.. | |
