My poor Zana

had vet out today as her face is getting worse.He has taken some muscle biopsies of her muzzle and cheek,will get the results from these next week.He also took some skin cells from her Lymph nodes and just drew out fluid of which he said oh dear. Whats oh dear supposed to mean i said,he said lets just wait for the results.

She has had a steroid injection in the meantime. At least she has had her foal now so we can try and find out more whats going on.

Her poor face is so swollen and hot. Its been going on for 5 months now and its affecting her breathing.

If we cant sort out whats wrong with her ,after we have weaned her foal we will sadly have to have her put to sleep as she is not leading a quality life.

Poor girl. I hope you get the results back quickly so you can start treating her. I also hope it's nothing serious, although your vet seemed to have some concerns regarding her lymph nodes. He should at least have given you some info rather than just leaving you with more worries. I will be thinking of both of you.

Awww... thats really sad... Im praying for her. Hopefully the vets will figure out what is wrong...

Any news on Zana's test results yet?

Not as yet,they lost one of her biopsies,typical.They said i should have result later today or tmrw.

Her whole face is now one big open weeping sore,its horrid.
