Miss Blue Chew Takes Another Step Toward Third Futurity SALLISAW, OK—AUGUST 24, 2007—Forty-four head of Oklahoma-Bred two-year-olds will run in trials for the Oklahoma-Bred Quarter Horse Futurity RG3 this Sunday, August 26 at Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Miss Blue Chew will step on the track in the first trial and make a bid to qualify for her third futurity of the year. Wapanucka, Oklahoma’s John Costiloe owns the filly that has already posted two futurity wins this year—the $220,800 Blue Ribbon Futurity G2 and the $546,400 Remington Park Futurity G1.
Under the guidance of the trainer-jockey pair of Luis Villafranco and G.R. Carter, the Royal Blue Chew Chew filly is currently ranked 4th on 2008 AQHA standings for Horses by Money Earned.
Cc Policy will be loaded in the gates in the second trial looking for her fourth futurity qualification in 2008. Bill Price’s filly, by Corona Cartel, won the $152,000 Oklahoma Futurity G3 at Remington Park in April after being the fastest qualifier. Trained by Eddie Willis and ridden by Roy Brooks, she qualified for the $126,500 Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Futurity RG2 and Miss Blue Chew’s $546,400 Remington Park Futurity G1.
Five trials for the Oklahoma-Bred Futurity will run Sunday, August 26th starting at 2:24 p.m. and ending at 4:16 p.m. Three trials for the Oklahoma-Bred Quarter Horse Derby will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 2:52 p.m.
