Bobbey -

People throughout racing need to realize that while we may not agree with what goes on in Mexico (on whatever level)...Mexico holds a HUGE part of QH racing!!!

The TQHA sale was AMAZING this year...I was flipping through results and found ONE horse that was bought back/sold for under $2k...that is incredible! There were a few more horses this year and definately some iffy pages... it was just awesome to see!!! And there were a bunch of those horses that will go to Mexico and if they cut it they will come back!

I for one, LOVE hearing about what goes on in Mexico -
After googling a horse we had sold at TQHA several several years back (he is actually still in our name - figure that one out) - turns out he was a neat little runner down in Mexico and had 2 aliases...sure made me happy to know that the mare wasn't quite as bad as we thought cheers

Things over here are open to discussion since that is what a forum is for - pretty much you aren't going to get anything deleted unless you use profuse profanity OR are incredibly/overly insulting to someone's horse (we all know we think of them like kids... I know some of mine have special needs in the looks department... brown paper bag just doesn't cut it sometimes Razz )

Information is important!!!! Thank you for bringing it over here for us to bask in!!!!!! cheers cheers cheers

Smokey,
I emailed the Tecate info and qualifiers to David Smith and told him it was fine with me if he used the info on stallionesearch, and it was fine if he didn't. So, we will see what he does, right???

Kidd,
There are some really nice two-year-olds running in this Furturity and I imagine several were bred in Texas. I know some of the breeders of these horses and even did ads for some who were consigned to the Yearling Sales last year. I called some of these mare owners and everyone was glad to find out where they were and what was going on.

If you go back up to the list of trial winners you will see where I have added the sales these horses went through as yearlings in 2006 and the prices they brought, as low as $3,700 and as high as $92,000.
HP is Heritage Place Yearling Sale with one repo at the Winter Mixed
RUI is Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale
Los Al is Los Alamitos Equine Sale
TQHA is Texas Quarter Horse Association Yealing Sale

This is in relation to Hurricane Dean. I received this note from my correspondent who gave me the info on the Tecate Futurity

Hi Bobbey....thanks for checking in.

I don't have any family in that part of Mexico, but I have some
friends
in the part where DEAN could hit after it crosses the Yucatan...I
believe
Dean will hit south of us, around 400 miles or so and we will be ok
here in
South Texas, but you never know, sometimes those things take a northern
turn
at the end before reaching their so-called path. We are prepared and
infact
the entire valley is prepared for DEAN as we don't want to go through
what
New Orleans went through. I hope we get some rain, but I'd say 3-5
inches
would be enough....if we could get spared of those awful winds, that
would
be great for us too. It's sad that sometimes hurricanes take a turn and
hit
somewhere else and you breathe a sigh of relief, but someone has to get
hit,
head on and its sad that has to happen.

There are several race tracks in DEANS path. Mostly bush tracks such as
the
one in VILLARIN, Veracruz, the one in TAMPICO, and the awesome one 50
yards
from the ocean in Tuxpan......I have never been there but had a picture

somewhere that one of my buddy's sent me where BF NEW BEGINNING was
racing a
half brother to Kendall Jackson I believe.....the grand stands are
mobile
and setup on the beach..................the racing strip is sand,
hardened a
bit so horses don't sink and as you face the racing strip...on the
other
side of the strip...50 yards away is the ocean.....

If I find the picture I will send it to you.
