Burnett Ranches Purchases ½ Interest in Ruidoso High Seller

GUTHRIE, TX—July 9, 2007—Burnett Ranches, Ltd. announced today it has purchased ½ interest in Captain Courage the high seller of the 2006 Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale for an undisclosed amount from Chad Hart.
Captain Courage broke his maiden in his second start June 26 at Delta Downs with a 3-1/4 length victory. He will continue in training with Heath Taylor and is being pointed at the All American Futurity(G1) trials on August 16th at Ruidoso Downs.

A son of champion and champion sire Mr Jess Perry, Captain Courage was purchased for $500,000 last August form the Julianna Hawn-Holt consignment.

He is out of Hawn-Holt's Champion/Champion producing mare Corona Chick, who is the dam of 9 ROM from 9 starters including Champion Corona Cash, grade 1 winners Valiant Hero and Corona Cartel, and stakes winner Corona Czech.

Valiant Hero posted the fastest qualifying time on Saturday to the $447,230 Rainbow Derby(G1) and Corona Cartel is currently the leading sire of 2007 Money Earners with more than $2.5 million.

Hart, a Royston Georgia resident, owns and operates Hart Farms in Kaplan, Louisiana.

Captain Courage is expected to stand along side his sire Mr Jess Perry at 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas following his retirement from racing.
