Amber, who is Trent's girlfriend, her stepdad died this morning of a heart attack. Trent had left for work at 6:30. Amber called at 7:00, said that she heard Donna, Amber's mom, screaming for Amber to help come revive him. I don't know if he died in his sleep or if he had a heart attack this morning. He was having chest pains last night and wouldn't go to the hospital.

Would you guys please keep Amber, Donna and Brianna, in your prayers today.

Thanks.

It's very difficult to deal with this when someone is ill and you know it can happen. When it happens unexpectantly and at home it goes far beyond anything I can imagine..

I am praying for them and I am so glad they have someone like you to help them through this..

Thanks, guys. Went over there around noon to take some food and Donna was feeling better. We are relatively new friends, but are so much alike. Our kids, of course, the way we've raised our kids, we both own our own business, our love for horses, and you'd swear we were made out of the same mold, not to mention we've got our kids married already - we just don't want them to know that. She talked an awful lot... it was just a bad deal all the way around... she actually was taking him to the hospital and he made her turn back around Saturday night. Also his brother had a heart attack the same day, but he went to the hospital and is at Baylor. His daughter from his first marriage's birthday is Tuesday, when Donna wanted to have the funeral, and his birthday was this Thursday... he would've been 45... that's 3 years younger than me... so she's going to switch the funeral to this Wednesday.

Amber is taking it real hard, and Trent, of course was over there with her all day yesterday, and when they came over to get some more food, and feed and hay for their horses, because they were out, she walked to the barn. She loves this place, and the horses... I told Trent to stay up at the truck and I walked down to her, and bless her heart... she can't get the vision out of her mind of doing the CPR, although her and he weren't close. I told her as soon as she could, she needed to come over, walk the land, go the hills where I work the horses at and where we'll build the house, and it'll help clear some things... that if she wanted to do it with Trent or by herself or with me, that that was fine.

Just a bad deal, ya know.

What you are doing for Amber and Donna will be what they remember the most from this whole ordeal... once the pain and scary memories fade, they will hopefully only really remember the good parts, and you'll be a big part of that.
