| Well we didn't put all of our horses up for sale or anything that dramatic, but, I decided that I'm taking a little break from everything I know to learn something new and take my mind off of everything. About a month ago, some new people moved in across the street and leased the neighboring roping arena and facilities for the summer, until the owner comes back. They are really nice people, finally went over and met them a couple of days ago and have already been riding with them now. Charlie, the husband, is a roper and really really talented, I think he kind of took a liking to me and offered to teach me to rope, which I am taking him up on. I've been riding Remmy over there so far, and roping has always really been what I thought he would naturally excell at, so yesterday I went and took him around the shoots and steers and he did fine. Today I'm going to go over there and chase some steers on him, maybe run him out of the box a little. I just want to teach him about all the sights and sounds while I learn to rope on the ground first. I like being around everything, the steers, the shoots, all of it, so I'm learning, just taking my time learning, that's about it, all pretty much the same though... | |

| That sounds exciting!! Learning something new never hurts and you have some new friends as well. How handy can you get having all this right acrodd the street! Do you have to do most of your riding in the evening this time of year? My daughter just moved to Tucson this winter and today she was panicking because it's supposed to be 105 degrees! I said you better get used to it! | |

| Sounds like a great opportunity! Roping always looks like so much fun. I would love to learn someday. Good luck and have fun! | |

| I think it's great to change up things for a bit. Sometimes you need to get a different focus to really focus on what you want to do. You're young, full of life, and the more information you know about every discipline, the better all around horse person you'll become! I think it's great, go have fun, forget about the other stuff, and let 'er rip! | |

| Thanks you guys Roping is a lot of fun so far, it's really gotten me back in the saddle again and it's something I feel like I'm naturally good at. I finally worked up the nerve to throw a rope off of Remmy yesterday and it went really well. He was kinda like, "Mom, what in the unholly hell do you think you are doing to me?" But, I actually had him standing perfectly still by the end of the day, even doing some practice on the dummy. I'm actually not too bad, lol. We're hauling out tonight to go and watch some good friends and my neighbor who is a champion team roping is going to do some riding on him too, so I'll keep everyone updated. And don't worry, Scotchy is doing really well, just kinda having some time off right now, mostly because he's got a little case of thrush that's clearing up now (finally.) But anyways, I really should be getting on the road here pretty quick. Hehe, I have officially rode like four days in a row, and I'm not hunched over in pain, yay! Go knee therapy! | |

| Sounds like a great time to do something different.. Halter is fun but not thrilling.. And, horses were meant to ride and enjoy too. Besides, that will give you some other things to do at a show.. | |
