Ok, so most of yall know I am in my tow's rodeo competition. Part of the judging is a 3-5 min. speech. I have drawn a blank. i really need something to blow them out of thewater. It can be anything horse related or rodeo. So, preferably something western. Anyone have any idea?

my hubby is sitting here giving suggestions... how about the use of growth implants in cattle or the impact of biofuels on farmers....or the role of ranchers in producing energy in wind ie: wind turbines on grazing land and farming land therefore dual use of land... you could combine the bio fuels and wind and discuss the role of the farmer and their ability to help decrease the dependency on foreign oil...

That's some great topics, Lynn! Wow! One idea that comes to my mind... why the heck do the guys growing the beef get so little of the money that we have to pay at the grocery market? The little guy's getting shafted big time!

The closing down of the slaughterhouses comes to mind since its been discussed so much in the forums. Perhaps it is too controversial though.. You don't want to alienate the judges. There have been lots of topics discussed on here though like the HERDA contoversy or the whole N/H HYPP thing.
