| this is so NON-HORSEY! Trent has his first junior/senior prom this Saturday night. He and his girlfriend have been dating for two months, so he wants to do something special for her. Course, he's already taking her out to a nice romantic restaurant, but he wants to do more. He's already done a candlelit dinner by the lake. I am literally drawing a blank here! He said something about after prom, and remember now, she's going to be in a long dress... going over to the hill (where we're going to build the house at), have a small fire there, some chairs, and maybe a small table, with a couple of candles - but it's supposed to be windy that night, and he said something about chocolate strawberries or something and fake wine. Lordy, lordy, lordy! I'm trying to help, but it's getting past my bed time and I just can't think. This will be done after prom. Any ideas? And I'd rather they be here on the place instead of somewhere else and not running the roads. | |

| My goodness, your boy sure is a natural lady's man lol. The only thing Tyler did for me after prom was unhook my corset/bra thing because I almost passed out from not being able to breathe properly LOL. It was a fun night though. Fondue (the chocolate dipped strawberry thing) is a lot of fun, but if it's windy, good luck keeping the flame lit. I would say that some nice music, a little nicely set table, some desert and a fire is pretty much perfect. Sweet boy Shiela, good job, good job. | |

| Thanks, Silverbuckles... I was bound and determined my boys wouldn't be like regular guys, but they're still young yet.
Well, I know she can wear my clothes - she wore 'em when they went 4-wheeling in our pasture. So I guess she could change here.
He's taking her out to eat before prom... but the weather tomorrow is supposed to drop -- y'all don't laugh, 60 during the day, 40 at night, so she'll need a jacket or some sort. Up there on the hill, it's pretty much cut off by all the trees, except the place like where the driveway would be, coming up the hill.
Truthfully, I'm just thinking of a fire, couple of chairs, and just sit and talk and enjoy the fire. I've always enjoyed that, even when I was their age.
Plus, he's already done the romantic dinner with candlelight by the lake - that was just so funny. Mom, get a table cloth, the china, and some candles, make sure you've got a lighter in there to light the candles... and oh, don't forget the silverware...it was so hard for me not to crack up.
He said that some guy had done the strawberry thing for his girlfriend, and I told him, well, you don't want to do the same thing that somebody else has done - that's boring - looks like you have no imagination.
Maybe just the fire, couple of chairs, and some non-alcoholic wine or champagne - if they even have such a thing... I've got some great crystal wine and champagne glasses... also, he's wanting to buy her a bracelet or necklace... I'm like, good GAWD...I can already see where this is heading. Good thing I like her! HA!
Whatcha think? | |

| My son's also planning his prom date next month, however he is completely unromantic and unoriginal!! Around here it's much more a group thing. Kids alll go out together to restaurants in big groups and after prom they have a huge deal at the school called Afterprom put on by the parents that lasts all night. Everyone goes even if you didn't go to prom you can still come if you are a junior or senior. It's quite an elaborate event with amazing decaorations and lots of prizes and it takes all year to plan. Sam pretty much just goes with the flow and lets his friends plan everything! I like this way because there is safety in numbers. Anything can happen when it's just two kids by a lake! LOL | |

| Flowers delivered to her at the Resturant. To make her feel special. I know that the florist will be closed just have them delivered early, make arrangements with the rest. and have them hold them and deliver them after she is setted. Carriage Ride, Picnic Basket to for after the prom. I Don't know how long they will be out. Some stay out for Breakfast now. Could be a sunrise Picnic. Song on the Radio. To so and so from Trent. A silver Braclett/ Charm necklace with there names on it saying prom 2007, for a very special keep sake. Ummm, Im thinking Im thinking. It has to be things that she can say to her girlfriends that he did or gave her and their dates didn't! Isn't that the way to score brownie points. Hee Hee. | |

| Wow ,Triple J , you're good at this! I like the idea of an engraved bracelet to make it a little more special than just jewelry. The flowers are a good idea and the picnic basket sounds nice. It's a lifetime memory, even if they don't stay together too long they can always look back on this. | |

Which me and her mom are in total agreement..... ah-hem... they ain't staying out all night, huh-uh, no way! I love the bracelet idea... now if I can just get my booty in gear and see if I can't find one for her... that is so great, though, about putting Jr/Sr. Prom 2007 on there! | |

| WOW, Triple J we did not know this about you? You are a romantic at heart.. That explains whey you like fillies too.... Great ideas.. I think if it might be a little cool you could add a nice blanket to cuddle under. And, they do make sparkling wine that is none alcholic. Taste good and is made of apple juice and does tast like champaine.. (OK so I can't spell.. Remember I told you I was married with a kid at prom time and my Mother was a bad speller too so, I got it from all that) Can I come? | |
