| Thanks I'm going to talk someone in my family into helping out so I can get her ammy showmanship finished (only need a whopping two points.) I will be showing her in halter in APHA and showmanship at all the local things. I have NO idea about her riding ability, so I will just have to see. It would just be totally freaking awesome though, if her previous trainers had gotten her going in western pleasure. But I'm not going to jump up and down about that until I know for sure lol. | |

| Those two points will come easy! Who knows, you may have a rider and dont know it. That would be a nice package to have. I hope to see more pics when you get her! | |

| I do not know how the amy works with APHA? In AQHA the only way to get the ROM or other is when the same amy shows the horse. Meaning you have to start all over with the points.. Also, you stated you are training horses and have customers. If you get caught showing amy you will get in BIG trouble. Your site even states you are a trainer and offer the service. I know amy status is the same in all association. Just thought I would mention that in case you do not know this. Be careful. Post pics as soon as you get her. These are almost 4yrs old and it would be nice to see how she looks now.. have fun... | |

| Maybe thats why she was going to talk to someone in her family?? That way they could show it and finish the ammy ROM. | |

| I never said anything about me showing ammy, the only place I will show her in showmanship (because APHA and AQHA don't offer an open showmanship class) is at the open shows we attend regularly. Thank you for your concern though, Bluejay Either way with the points, I still want her to get her ROM in showmanship, it's her forte, you could say. I've talked my mom into showing, so if this mare is as easy to show as I think she's going to be, it should all work out just fine I will post pics just as soon as she gets home, I know she'll be hairy and not fit though I would like to go get her sooner, but I'm having surgery next week and won't be able to take care of her right off, so I'm waiting a few extra weeks | |

Bluejay is right. In AQHA, Points do not go with the horse in Ammy, only the rider. So, it would not matter if it was a family member or not. It would to be with the person having the 8 points to start with. Sorry, At least that is how it works in AQHA. Only OPEN points can be added on to by by more than one person to lets say, get an ROM. | |

| Well just talked to APHA, had to anyway since Im breeding to a double Reg. in 09. SORRY, but nope, points in Ammy to NOT go with the horse, only in OPEN. So you and your Mom will be starting from scratch, Ok, this is what I mean. Your mares show record will show she has the points on her record, but the points, she has in showmanship, only counts toward that person, and that horse working toward their ROM. Example, Reagan and Kittie 5 Ammy Western Pleasure points Reagan and Myself 5 Ammy western pleasure points, Even though there is a total of 10 points, this is not an ROM, It means we have a total of 10 points on him, but we lack 5 points each getting our ROM. | |

| Yeah, I kinda figured that was the way it worked, but still, not a problem They picked those 8 points up in what I believe was less than three shows, and the APHA showmanship classes down here are just gigantic, so hopefully if I work with them both enough, we'll still be able to get her a ROM. Thank you so much for the info TJ, I appreciate it | |

| I love SMS, Just love it.. Good luck with it! The patterns in AQHA now almost look like a trail class in some cases. | |

| Dont let that bother you, you will have your OWN ROM on her soon! Either way, she beautiful. I wish I could get my mom into it more. She likes the cheerleading part. I need to get her something that she can go in halter with. Shes sooo small though, next to a halter horse she would look like she belongs in the youth class | |

| I figured APHA was the same as AQHA. I was surprised to learn this year that the youth halter do not have a grand and reserve class. I have a few friends that have showmanship horses that are so trained they do the pattern with out a lead. AMAZING.. That would be the kind of horse I would need to do that class.. They could lead me through... It'is not easy to memorize a pattern then do it exactly the way it's to be done. Showmanship is not an easy class at all. I just wish my halter horses would set up in the few seconds they have to do it. A well trained showmanship horse just automatically does it.. | |

| Girl I saw a pattern that had you go in a box of logs, and do a 360! one side was open, the same pattern they had you do a slow trot threw 5 cone, trot around the end and come back threw doing a extended jog, Id fall over from being out of breath! They asked for an 550 pivot, sent you off at an angle, stop to where you would walk to the judge straight. set up for inspection, leaving was a back in the shape of an L ( it was threw Logs) and Then trot, stop, set up. and then leave.. I was like, what the heck! | |
