I had to buy a new camera with my christmas money from my grandparents. It was earmarked for a new dvd/vcr combo, but I figured when I'm trying to sell horses over the internet, the camera would pay for itself.
When Brennen was little, he wasn't allowed on a horse without his helmet. When I started the 4-H club, the one rule I insisted upon was that all members needed to wear helmets while mounted. The one he has must have been defective, cause it got tiny spiderweb cracks all over it almost right away. Now it has a huge chunk of the shell out, so I have a new helmet on order. Good catch, cause even I forgot about it.
Yeah, his goal is to become a horse trainer. He has had two reining trainers tell him that if he still wants to train when he's older, they'll give him references so that he can go work with one of the big name trainers in the US. One told him he had a ton of talent and that he shouldn't let it go to waste. It made his week.
He has 5 horses. Most people tell me it's too many, although he does have 2 of them for sale. My thing is that he keeps busy and out of trouble. He doesn't want to be a cowboy, unlike Sean, he wants to be a trainer and he's already planning on what classes he's entering at what shows this summer. I'm hoping he keeps his interest, especially when all his friends are going out partying and he has to stay home to wash and band for a show the next morning.
