Wanted in Texas

Okay -
Those of you in Texas -
I'm looking for a gelding for my father-in-law...
I'm trying to get him to sell a gelding he currently has that there is NO WAY he will be able to ride - just too much horse for him!
I think I will have better success if I have a horse lined up for him (he has been doing the -sell-keep-sell-keep see-saw that drives me NUTS)!
So - I'm looking for a 7-12yo gelding that can handle being turned out for 1 month and then ridden at a walk/trot around... Needs to be 15.1+ hands and pretty stout... Also would like to stay under $5k, Ideally would stay right at $3500...
I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for!

You need to go to some of these sales around... Lordy, you can find a jam-up one for a lot less than that!!!!

Thats kinda what I figured - I am about to pull my hair out with Gary - UGH...he likes Willie because he is "pretty" and he bred him - well...Willie is now 9 years old and doesn't know ANYTHING! He is a 16.3 hand well bred gelding that doesn't know squat!
Sooo - my suggestion was to sell Willie Bugger (bugger bears jump out at him all of the time from the corners of his mind) and buy a horse that Gary can go get on and ride if/when he wants to!
