Multiple Grade 1 Winner Okey Dokey Fantasy To Stand at JEH in '08



PILOT POINT, TX—SEPTEMBER 27, 2007—JEH Stallion Station announced today the grade 1 stakes winner Okey Dokey Fantasy will began stallion duties at their Texas Division in 2008.

The son of Champion Okey Dokey Dale will be retired from racing at the end of this season.

Last season the bay stallion won nine of 13 races including the Ruidoso Futurity(G1), Manor Downs Futurity(G1), and Longhorn Futurity(G1). He won his first eight starts before finishing off the board in the 2006 $2 Million All American Futurity following a disastrous start at the gate.

Okey Dokey Fantasy ended the season with a second place finish in the $300,000 Southwest Juvenile Championship to grade 1 winner Remember Me Rose.

Okey Dokey Fantasy has earned $558,116 from a record of 9-3-0 from 13 starts. He is expected to compete this fall at Lone Star Park in the Dash For Cash and Texas Classic Derby trials.

His dam is a half-sister to stakes winners Royal Medallion ($120,796), Crazy About Corona ($90,252) and stakes-placed Fast Fontana and Frivolous Fontana. Okey Dokey Fantasy's second dam is a grade 3 stakes winning daughter of Moon Lark and half-sister to Texas Classic Futurity(G1) winner Fast Debonair ($455,658).

Owned by the Okey Dokey Fantasy Partnership, his 2008 fee will be announced following retirement from the track. For breeding contracts or additional information contact Andrew Gardiner at 940.440.2040.

I wonder what his stud fee will be. I suppose they will just syndicate him for a bazillion dollars like the rest of the studs coming off the tracks these days!

I don't think he will be syndicated but who knows. His fee shouldn't be TOO high since you can breed to his sire for $3500.
He also hasn't run very impressively this year and he is going to have a tough time at Lone Star - there are going to be some tough 3yos running up there...
He was supposed to stand last year but it just didn't happen...we'll see what they set his price at!

Yeah I wondered what the deal was with that. They just didn't ever have anymore ads or anything other than in the Stallion edition. I guess we will see what happens.

I say $3,500-$4,000

Andy - do you really think he warrents that high of a fee?

There are some NICE horses in the $3500-$4000 range that are not only Proven but have stronger female families to back them up...
Okey Dokey Fantasy has a solid family but they aren't "barn burners" until you get to the 3rd dam... (just food for thought)

He is an outstanding individual....just not sure that is enough to warrent that fee - especially since he has yet to really fire this year...he is going to need to finish really strong...He has the earnings, I'd just like him to show something this year...

When you open it up across the nation - it gets kinda crazy...he's a nice horse and I hope he smokes them at Lone Star...not saying his fee won't be in the $3500-$4000 range - just saying as a breeder it would be tough to pass on some of those other horses to go with a young stallion by a horse who really hasn't gotten much respect (Okey Dokey Dale yearlings averaged $7889 in 2005 and $11607 in 2006)...

Just thoughts though - like I said - I hope he smokes em at Lone Star (well, almost - REALLY hoping that My First Passion will step up and RUN but that is just pure selfishness )
