Okay - so the filly that was starved just continues to show improvement... this is probably her latest pic taken about 7 days ago or so...
My 2yo fractured 2.5 teeth in his last race so he looks kinda pitiful now that they are all pulled out and gone... The two in training now (Feet and Randolph) are doing great... Danged paint horse is up in a stall now officially...he is getting fit to SHOW - I do NOT want to pull his mane (it really is quite pretty) but if I show him (thinking halter) then do I need to pull it?!?!?

Wow!!! She looks great!
If it's a smaller open show, you could probably get away with a long mane or you could band the mane. There was a 2yo pleasure horse being shown a year or two ago that had a long banded mane, it looked pretty. I show my rope horses, with long manes, at open shows in the halter and riding classes.
If you are going to a breed show, you should probably pull it. I feel your pain, I never thought I'd say this, but since I've had the rope horses, I really prefer the long manes.

**close your eyes** (then open them) and clip the mane!! it is a lot less upkeep than a long mane!! Good Luck!
