Oklahoma Connections Found In Every All American Trial By CHRISTA MORRIS
Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—AUGUST 15, 2007—Just like a Starbucks Coffee Shop can be found on nearly every corner of metropolitan America, horses with Oklahoma connections can be found in each and every All American trial race set for Thursday, August 16 at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico. Literally every trial heat represents the efforts of Oklahoma horsemen either through ties of ownership, training or breeding.
American Quarter Horse racing in Oklahoma has witnessed a significant increase in the past few years. In 2007, Oklahoma’s racetrack will have paid nearly $18,000,000 in purses and more than $1,500,000 in Oklahoma-Bred awards. Horsemen are not only reaping the benefits of racing on the red dirt in Oklahoma, but also making significant contributions to racing across the United States. Below is a list showing an example of the impact from Oklahoma-based stallions and Oklahoma-Bred horses competing in the trials for one of the nation’s most prestigious two-year-old races.
