| Okay - so - moving to Hempstead...there are no cable companies that service the house we'll be at - amazingly enough though I'll have DSL - no clue why no cable but don't really care either...
So - here's the question: DirecTV or Dish Network ?????????????????
The only channels we really CARE about are HRTV, TVG, RFDTV, ESPN (all of them) and the outdoor channel (for Garrett to see all of his rodeo buddies when they're at the big rodeos)... | |

| We've got Direct TV at my mom's house and my dad used to have Dish Network. I liked Direct TV better, just hope you don't get a bad storm or heavy rain or the T.V will go out becase it can't get a sattilite signal and that can become a pain. I can't remember much with the Dish Network because I wasn't at my dad's house much. | |

| Isn't Dish Network the one that has the horse channel? | |

| I know DirectTV has it cause I'm watching it all the time. I'm not sure about Dish Network. I think it does too though. | |

| Yes, Direct has RFD-TV. We switched from Dish, because they quit having the outdoor channel that had Rick's bull riding on it... jeesh! I was with Dish for a long time... been with Direct, oh, about 2 years now... no complaints. And, Kidd, you're gonna be like me... We have satellite, but I also have DSL through the phone company... weird, I know! | |

| Ok Im the opposite I switched from Direct TV to Dish Network. I still get the Bull riding LOL ha Shelia... but also have everything packaged and get my high speed internet through Dish as well and everything is cheaper for me. I couldn't find anyone would would give me high speed internet except Dish and I love the Dish we also have RFDTV we have better reception than we did with the Direct TV and better customer service. | |

| We had Direct for a couple of years....Then went back to cable. We have a tv in almost every room, except the 2 bathrooms. The local reception really sucks here.....Got tired of having good reception on only one tv.....And my husband always hogged the satelite. I sure wish we could get The Sience Channel and RFDTV | |

| Lynn, you know, at some point they cut the outdoor channel off or something, Rick was throwing a wall-eyed fit, and I'm talking wall-eyed fit. I know Anita has it Dish up in Missouri and she said she could see the bullriding... I think Rick was just doing something wrong with the channels or something, but oh, well. Yeah, I knew you could get DSL through Dish and Direct... I don't know though, as much as I download cases, and the satellite gets fuzzy or goes off, I was worried about that. Lynn, does it do that to your DSL? | |

| Hmm - so Direct has the vote it seems... Garrett and I just like to be able to watch the BIG races out in CA when we get home from the TX tracks - its not fair to make the horses wait while we wait on trials from CA...soooo, TVG and HRTV are great - plus with my DSL I'll be able to stream anything I need to from online! Its nice to have some noise in the background while I'm working too sometimes...it gets lonesome around here Hehe, I can't WAIT to get moved south!!!! Its going to be nice cutting my commute down to 0 again | |

| Hmmm - okey dokey ----- So it seems that both companies offer the channels we want....... Are rates steady? This is a treat for Garrett - he hasn't had internet or TV in over 4 years I'm a spoiled brat and HAVE to have internet of some kind and TV will be nice from a "business" stand point Hehe... I can justify about anything when I need to!!!! It helps that my job pays for my DSL and phone lines...TV is all me though! | |
