WOOT! I think I figured it out!

OK, so I have been trying to figure out why Pinto carries his head so high. I want to show, but going into a WP class with a tie-down, even at an open show, is very unpractical. So I did a dumb thing today and decided to go ride just for a little bit down the road, even though I could hear thunder. I borrowed a bosal from a friend, so I decided to give it a go. No tie-down or anything. Man, he was perfect! He had a really nice level headset and he looked really nice. I think I might have found the problem. I think that maybe his high headset had something to do with the bit. Anyway, when it dries up, Im gonna try him in it again and if he goes well, I think I might have fixed his headset problem.

Good job - sometimes just getting that out of their mouth works wonders. If a bosal isn't quite enough you may consider a hackamore or even a side pull (even though side pulls are more generally used on babies while breaking them in)...

might want to bend him in circles. get him more supple. plus when your just riding forward. try holding his face plus driving him up, once you see him give the slightest bit release his face. then do this all over again. but again you need to bend him like crazy. like its going out style. once he learns at the walk then try the trot, then the lope.

So....When do we get to see pics of your horses wearing the new halters?????? I'm really looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!
