| Cisco's old owner doesn't want him back I guess now, sooo he's for sale! I think I'm going to put him on equine.com...or should i put him on dreamhorse? Which one do you think I'll have more luck with? I need to take some new pictures but he's not all the way shed out...ughh. I'll post pictures soon and have you guys pick which ones I should put up!
Thanks for all your help everyone

| I would probably put him on both. You'd get more people looking at him that way. | |

| Also try www.agdirect.com that is a pretty popular site down here. I know plenty of Texas people that go far out of state for a horse they like! You can also put up flyers at feed stores, tack shops, and other pet stores. Maybe even let it be known next time you take him to a show by putting his info on his stall door. Or if it is a small open show, ask the announcer to make an announcement. Just a few ideas. | |

| Ok sweet, thanks for the idea's guys!
b&b: thanks, I was going to put a flyer on his stall door at the fair.. That's a good idea to have them announce it too!

| I like dreamhorse personally. That's the one I look to when I am fantasy shopping!! Buy everyone has their favorites and when we were actively looking for a horse we looked at equine.com and ag-direct.com too. Plus I called on a few from fliers left in tack stores and posted at stores. In the end we found him on Dreamhorse though. I'd post everywhere if I were you. Internet ads are cheap. If you have better older pictures I would post those if he's not quite shedded out. The picture doesn't have to be exactly current. Get him looking his best. For instance the picture you have on your ad here is really nice. I am more attracted to a nice horse show win picture than I am a pasture shot, especially if you are advertising him as a show horse. | |

| Good points stockman! I would also include a personality shot, like the one in your signature, of him being playfull or just being goofy. ( the good goofy). THe one with the hat is really cute.... | |

| I would probably use Equine.com. They've added some neat features lately. I also *think* you get 3 photos while Dreamhorse only gives one. Make sure you get some really good pictures to put on, since you want the first impression to catch their attention. I would probably do a side profile (no saddle on, people want to see conformation), one under saddle (at a jog would be best), and then maybe a head shot or one from a horse show. It's best to get him cleaned up, clipped, banded, hoof oil, etc. for the photos, just like if you were taking him to a show. A good picture is key to getting good responses on your ad! Also, I would keep the description fairly short to encourage people to email and ask questions. Don't put in things about little bad habits, etc. (if he has any), wait until they ask. For instance, I would say something like... "Young show gelding with lots of potential. Shown successfully in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, and Halter. (Maybe list awards.) Talented enough to move on to the all-around events. Quiet and easy to work around. Clips, bathes, loads, etc. with no problems. Sound with no vices. He is fit and ready to take to the show pen." Good luck! | |

| I do both.. On DH you will get alot in the beginning then it can just stops. It is not too $$$$ though. The other one they trickle in. I would DH first. Make sure you have plenty of good photos. Since he is a rider I would expect some video collectors. You are savey enough to put up a youtube under sadde and send links to that.. Good luck.. Go just a little above what you want so you can come down and make you buyer think they are getting a deal. I always end my add with negociable and good home a must.. People may not read your add and information on him. Kids are sometimes looking for what they want. Take them seriously. Make sure you get back to EVERYONE who inquires about him. Need to check your email several times a day. Even if you think they are full of it.. Be professional.. This will drive you BONKERS.. | |

| I'd post him on all three! The more coverage he gets out there, the faster he'll sell. | |

| Ok thanks a bunch guys! Do you think I should wait until i get back to advertise him on those websites so that I can handle it more professionally and reply as soon as I get it? If I do it before then I wouldn't get to reply for like a week.
For some reason I'm kind of nervous to tell our 4-H horse advisor person the price on him. it just seems so high from when I bought him, but then she hasn't seen him since last summer. I COULD just be like, if you know anyone that would be good for Cisco or that wants a horse to let me know. And then tell her I don't know the price yet or something.

| personally, I have had a lot of luck with www.horsetopia.com . I've sold some horses in less then a week on there, and I dont really pay to advertise anywhere else. I wish you good luck in selling your boy! | |
