An LOL moment....

OK. So I was riding Pinto english yesterday. I rode past my neighbors house. I noticed that his son and his wife and my neighbor were outside. My neighbor noticed that I was riding, and motioned for me to come say hello. So, I rode through the gate and into his yard and rode up to them. I said Hi and everything. My neighbor wanted to show me some horse pictures he took at a friends house, so him and his son went to get them. So i was outside with his son's wife, and shes like "Wow hes beautiful!" And I was like "thanks!" Then I went into a little description about him. She told me how she used to ride horses all the time. Then she says "so your planning on racing him.. how often do you take him to the track?" and Iwas like "what?". And then she says "well he has a racing saddle on him." and I just kind of stared at her. It was really awkward. Then i kind of had to explain how English riding was a kind of riding. But LOL, I felt sorry for her, though.

That is one of the first questions people always ask me, "Oh, do you race?" Umm... no. haha. Then whenever I tell them I show, they always assume that I jump. lol.

The worst I've heard...I was standing *at a livestock show* with my market lamb, and a lady came up, petted her and said "you have such a sweet steer!"
Um, hello. Steers? The massive beef-on-hooves over there? Yeah, that's right

I used to get that all the time. You wonder that they have never seen show jumping on tv. Here in Canada they show Spruce Meadows competitions all the time. Oh well, at least you were able to handle it without laughing at her. I almost fell off my horse once I laughed so hard tt someone who asked me that.

haha thats too cute! I love it when people have no idea what your talking about! I did that horse project in my communications class and people were calling me "the horse expert" and i was like, um i didn't even say anything that you shouldn't already know...city people.. jk, i know some of you are from the city. People always are like, do you do barrels? and i'm like no just pleasure and stuff, and they're like, that sounds funny,hahah, and i'm like ahh ok, they're like, sounds boring, NO its not! haha

What I find most amusing about people without a clue is that they really underestimate how hard it is to ride a horse well! A good rider makes it look so easy and these people think they can just climb up and take off and jump a fence or do a reining pattern!

I know! Same here! I have friends that are like, we should go out and ride sometime, and i'm like ya, sure right after you take two months of lessons and get a horse that I trust you riding! JESH, I think every one in the usa should have to try ride a horse once, maybe then they'll get it! haha

Yea, it was a little awkward for both of us. Man, I used up all of my self-control to keep from laughing!
