she is so beautiful... I agree with Triple J get her on a fat supplement it will fatten her up and make her so shiney!!! With that color wow. I don't think she looks that light in weight either in that picture but Im all about performance not halter.

Man, oh, man, that filly has grown since we saw her pic when you were buying her... criminey sakes alive!

Look at that Sierra Te hip, just look at ... oh, I still like the heck out of this filly! Look at that gorgeous neck, ties up nice, tight and high.

What's your feeding or exercise program? Maybe we can offer suggestions on that? All of us have different feeding programs, course I think it's okay at this point to say the word OATS around here now without being criticized... GAWD!

I had the same problem with my yearling filly last year (Scamp's full sister) about not keeping enough weight on. So I started working her longer, and she ate more... and she was a big alfalfa eater. Yearlings do this, so don't get too put out. Usually ones that do this now by the time they hit late yearling, they really come into their own... Sis did... two weeks before the new owners came and picked her up... figures! GAWD!

Wow, she looks great! She really has grown since the last time I saw a photo of her. She is growing up quite nicely, I'd say. Smile Very pretty!

thanks guys

Shiraz is turned out everyday on average grass,i wont keep a horse in 24/7.She has approx 6lbs of stud mix, lots of alfa pellets, unmolassed sugar beet, loose alfa,3/4 pint oil,1lb of baileys outshine, linseed, seaweed powder mix and garlic plus haylage. She leaves food to mainly her haylage.Ive just recently got to the point where she will eat all her feed.

she also gets walked 20 mins a day.i wont lunge or round pen youngster as i dont believe in putting to much strange on there joints, but thats my opinion.

i just want to get a better covering over her ribs,as soon as she takes a breath in you see them,Not good. She just so tall, near 15.hh

We love her to bits so im not worried about not showing her im just so proud of her.She even walks out in heavy traffic and dont care when double decker buses go past.she really is great.

Well, I can't tell about the feed, I think you've said before you guys can't get alfalfa hay. I would try and find her a higher protein based hay, if you could. And if it were me, I'd put her up, and turn her out about 4 hours a day. With her being black, I'd put her out as soon as she got through eating her grain for 2 hours before the sun hits, and then back out again around oh, 5:00-ish and then feed her when she gets back in. That still gives her plenty of turn-out time, time to be a horse, but still keep great body condition and hair coat.

I'd also worm the dickens out of her... get her on a 30-day program there.

WHOA NELLIE, She has grown. Pretty Girl, Love that color!

In yearlings, since they like to play, you might want to keep her up, only letting her out enough to keep her hungry, a serious worming program, and a high fat diet with out the starch and sugar. Shoes on front not back. More heal on the front as well.

will incress her oil,she has 1lb of outshine which is high in fat,we dont have the kinda feeds you guys have.she starting to eat more alfa pellets.will cut her turnout time like you guys say.luckily she dont play alot as she with older horses that dont charge around.

the way its going i think im going to have to scratch the show in 3 weeks, will get some pics of her later, hopefully when she dry.Flippin rain
