| Alright, I decided I would go to the auction and see what they had, and if any thing good, get me a mare/filly for a project to re-sell, as I have made a lot of profit doing so.
I was so depressed when i saw this little red dun filly, soaked in rain, shivering, with little to no meat on her body, she couldnt have been more than one year old. When her time in the ring came, the meat man bid, then when me and another lady bid, I purchased her for $170.00 (CAD of course). Quite nicely put together, just needs groceries....
then I had my eye on this beautiful bay mare, 5 yrs old, with a very large paint colt suckling off of her. When she went through the ring seperate from her colt, I purchased her for $230.
They are a little scared, and the mare is "somewhat broke", but the filly shows a lot of promise, and the mare I think just needs to go back to base number one.
Pics tommorrow when its not raining cats and dogs!

| Congratulations on your new projects!! I envy you because that is something I would love to do only at this time we don't have enough pasture or stall space. So in the meantime I have to stay away from the auction barns, because I know if I went I would have to buy! Can't wait for the pictures!!! | |

The dun is too cute! What a steal! Is there ANY chance she could turn buckskin? <<Just curious! I like Lilly, and it came to mind when I got her..... but she is very feminine, and I just cant pick a name yet, so until I do..... I have been calling her mare LOL and as for the filly (Kali) turing buckskin, it is genetically impossible. What she is color wise, is a sorrel with a dun gene. No creme involved, which is what makes a buckskin a buckskin and a palomino a Palomino. The dun gene tends to lighten the coat, but not actually dilute it. So she looks lighter than a actual sorrel, but genetically, thats what she is, just with the dun gene. a Dun, is genetically a bay horse with the dun gene, many confuse them as buckskins, when really, they will never produce a creme foal (palomino, buckskin, smokey black, cremello, perlino, smokey creme) unless bred to a creme carrying mate. Clear as mud?
