| Texas meets are: Retama Park (San Antonio) May 4 - June 17 with Racing Friday/Sat/Sun Sam Houston (Houston) June 29 - Sept 8 with racing Friday/Sat/Sun+holidays Gillespie County (Fredericksburg) July 7,8,21,22 and August 11,12,25,26 Lone Star (Grand Prairie) October 5 - Dec 1 with racing Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat except Thanksgiving (no racing on that date) Manor has already finished their meet! ***There are also match races all over Texas...we'll have to get more people that are "match" oriented. I only know about the ones near here and usually I find out the day of or day before.*** Ok - I'm tired of typing but I found a link to all the info!!! http://www.aqha.com/aqharacing.com/horsemaninfo/2007USRaceDates.pdf | |

| Hehe, that is NOT a big dork question!!!! A match race can be for any distance at any location for any prize...LITERALLY...if you can think it, they have had it!!! 20yds to miles...purses from $0 to infinite... Usually a match race is between 2 horses...sometimes there are more...but not the 10 horse fields you see at sanctioned tracks...usually 2 or 3 horses per race is Max. You CAN match for the other horse which does happen sometimes (kinda makes me wonder though - do you REALLY want the horse you just beat?!?!?) At "match" tracks there is no official betting...it is just a bunch of races and a bunch of horses and while there are usually "some" rules, most are GONE... I'm VERY new to the whole match scene...I like rules | |

| Yeah, bragging rights and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Lots of these races are for some GOOD money (there were a few last weekend for 10k) which each owner puts up...winner take all kinda deal | |

| I'd like to see some of those match races, too. You konw how we all did when we were kids, out of our parents' eye-shot... ah-hem???? That 3-year old colt that I sold a couple of weeks ago out of Kid, that's what they're planning on doing with him, and I bet if that sucker ever gets stretched out, he'll do real well! Kidd, I'd heard that were doing some match races, oh, somewhere just south of us, Athens or somewhere around there maybe? I can't remember what they told me, but I told them if they did run the colt to be sure and let me know and I'd be there. | |
