| Sonnys Twisted Fate (May 2006 AQHA Palomino Colt) Pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/sonnys+twisted+fate So I figured it was probably time to take some pictures of the little fella now that he's looking more up to par with the rest of his family. I'm going to show pictures when we first got him, when he was sick, and now that he is well. Please keep in mind, for those of you who don't know the situation in whole, Twister was a colt that we picked up from an aquaintance and in the first week we owned him developed immune mediated myopothy. (In simpleman terms, his body attacked his muscles like it would a virus.) I in no way caused this and spent a good sum of money on his treatment. This was not a neglect case at all. When we first got him: When he was sick (Pictures taken within two weeks of his arrival, notice the severe adema and muscle loss): Now (Notice better coat quality, muscle is nearly back to full extent, growth has increased, and he is all around better.) Well, there he is y'all. I can't believe the come-back he's made, he looks like a totally different horse. | |

| Wow he looks great! You did a great job with him. That's so sad that he went through all that, poor guy. He's lucky to have someone like you to take care of him and help him get better. You're right, he looks like a whole new horse! | |

| Thanks I'm really proud of this boy because for a few weeks, it was dreading to go out to the barn and see if he was still standing or not. I mean, he looked like death, all the life was just gone from his eyes and he just didn't have the strength to do anything. I think he's going to make a real nice performance horse someday though, we'll try him out in the ranch versatility events later on. He'll be registered PBHA (I think that's it, anyways.) and I also believe he had just enough foundation breeding to be registered through there too. He really has just a nice mind, he's put together pretty well too, but his growth was stunted when he was sick so we're working through that right now, he's on a special diet for the rest of his life and will probably be a permanent horse here too. He's a special little guy, I care a bunch for him. He reminds me of the old western movie horses, and just think, I don't even have to bleach his mane ;o) | |

| He looks awesome!! And in such a short time you made a huge difference in coat and condition. I applaud you for taking on this big responsibility and what must have been a huge financial drain. This horse owes his life to you and I know you will be rewarded. | |

| He was on heavy steroids, and to counteract the immune depletion he was on antibiotics nearly the whole time he was one steroids. That alone wouldn't have treated him as a whole though, it would only treat the immune problem. He was also just kind of neglected when we got him, his feet were and still are longer than they should be and he gets trims every three weeks or so to correct some problems stemed from people letting him get too long. His coat condition was just horrible too, you could tell he just wasn't feeling too hot the day he got here. He's also on Silver Lining's Training Mix (which I highly reccomend, btw. and it's all natural, which is great too. A bit pricy though.), a growth supplement, fat supplement, and some other stuff that we've used to fix him on the inside too. Other than that, just a whole bunch of TLC. This colt wouldn't even let you catch him the day he got here, but by that evening, he would walk up to you, let you pick up all four of his little baby feet and touch him all over. His manners are nearly 100% improved too, he still can be a little unpredictable though, just has a lot to learn and is still working through being afraid of things, learning to trust ALL people and not just me, which is a big deal, because we've traveled to the vet's office so many times and he's been poked and prodded etc., not to mention the close together farrier visits. But hey, he's all together a nice guy, I have a lot of hope that the extra effort we've put into him so far will pay off later, especially with the bond that we've got going on. | |
