Well, I think Texas is just a bit out of the way... there's some kind of deal where there's a listing of places where you can stop at... I just can't think of where it is? Was it on the AQHA website? Seems like I remember seeing one there. Maybe look in the back of AQHA?
I'm assuming you're either taking him, he's not going by a regular hauler?
And I'll tell you something else you can do, that we had to do one time. We were only hauling one horse, so it worked fine.
My bud had a 3-horse slant, and we just stopped at the roadside parks and stayed in the dressing room part of the trailer, locked everything up, opened up the slants for him, gave him his water and feed in there, scooped the trailer, etc. every night. We brought milk cartons full of his own water, just to keep everything the same. It was my bud's prize colt that she'd sold, and she wasn't letting him get out of her eyesight at all! Course what we did, is we padlocked the back door on the trailer at night, and even when we stopped to eat, if she felt she couldn't keep an eye on him from the restaurant.
