| I am counting my blessings this evening. My kids & I went to the 24 hour CVS at 10 o'clock to get some snacks while we were having a movie marathon and we ended up being in a hold up by two guys with guns!
Thank God my kids did everything I told them too and we all got out of it okay. Just really traumatized.
THANK YOU LORD! | |

| My husband was on duty and he got there as soon as one of the responding officers told him we were there.
I am just glad they only took money from the register and left. I just remember telling my kids to get down on the ground and not to look up and not to make a sound. We were one isle behind the register so the kids didn't see them, just heard heard all of the commotion and yelling and the CVS guy screaming. I took my credit card and drivers license out of my purse and quitely put them under a shelf so if they took purses they wouldn't know where I lived.
My husband said I don't have a choice now. He's taking me to get my concealed gun permit.
It is an awful thing to have to go through though. You feel helpless and violated. I am so thankful that everyone was physically okay.

| You have a few lucky stars! I think I would have wilted in that situation. So happy that everything turned out OK. Your town sounds a little like mine...One day I will move far far far away from the city! | |

| OH MY GOODNESS! Bless your heart. It's bad enough being you, but the thought of your children being there. I know Mommy Mode must have kicked in big time. That would be one of my most fears, They are grown now, and I still say things like, Do this and do that, becareful. Etc. They say, Mom, we are all grown up now. And Now I will tell them, See it doesn't matter if your all grown up. Bless your heart. Hope they catch them and hang them up by their ummm Toes. Hummm, small towns sure are nice. Maybe its time to move!

| You know, Cindy, if'n you really want to get out in the country, we have our place for sale, or at least the house and 10 acres, a barn, etc. And I'd be more than happy to let you use my arena, and the kids can fish, and if they hunt, Trent built a huge deer stand back at the back where I work the horses...And I know how much you guys like to trail ride... my farrier and his wife go trail riding all the time, great places, in fact, they just had a big trail ride this past weekend. Plus we've got some other friends that Lordy, they take off everywhere to trail ride.
So COME ON UP!!!!!! | |

| Oh Shiela that sounds sooo nice, but my husband has like 7 more before he can retire. If he can stick that out he'll retire with a load of cash. Right now we are about 20 miles outside of Houston and we are looking to go another 15 to 20. That would put us in farmland country. As soon as he reitres, we are going to go to the boonies! Maybe I'll just have to take a trip up the bumpy old hwy 59 to visit you sometime though! Maybe we can all meet somewhere and have a big ole family weekend! | |

| that is terrifying! im so glad you are okay, its so sad that you cant even go to the store anymore without having to worry.
the bank which is nextdoor to my house (in a very small quiet town) got robbed last week. the police made us leave the house because the guy ran away on foot, and was armed! rediculous!!!!!
im so glad you and your children are okay!

| Glad you and the kids are safe. Your husband saying you have to get your concealed permit makes me nervous though. I have mine I don't think it is a good solution though. Most times people with concealed weapons end up causing more harm then good since they are not fully trained in said gun. Or for that type of situation, I know that I would never consider pulling out my gun if I had been in that store. I guess we all do what we feel we need to but wow its a very dangerous line. |

| Well, it's more for personal protection not to use in that case. I agree. I would have never used it, especially since my kids were there. | |

| I understand what your saying I just have really mixed feelings on anyone having a handgun I guess. That is unless your a trained policeofficer or military and still in some cases that scary. I have had mine for years now and I just never have a gun with me ever too afraid of it being used against me etc. I worked for Brinks and went through all the training and I was in the Navy and I was an avid hunter target shooter etc etc and I still would rather take a baseball bat or other hard object to someone if my life were threatened if you get what I am trying to say. Just scary all the way around. Glad you kept your cool in the store and kept the babies safe. |

| You know, when me and the kids used to travel and such, I always kept a knife with me. Probably illegal as all get out, but it was between my seat and the console, and I would've pulled it in a heartbeat... it was a big sucker, too. Thankfully, my Dad taught all his girls how to shoot, use a knife (throw it and such), and change the oil and a flat tire... HA! Okay, that really did sound a bit redneck... but I promise you it's not... | |
