| This has been one crazy hectic and fun year! I'm not really online much because I'm gone a lot, but here's a little update! I hope everyone on here is having a good year and is holding up ok. We are down to four horses, which is soon to be five. After a career ending injury, I had to retire my rodeo horse Larry in February, after doing VERY well at Sun Circuit and winning the circuit championship in pole bending and the res. in barrel racing. We will finish the year with a high point in pole bending and a reserve high point in barrel racing for year end awards. We had to go through a few horses to find the "right" one. But I did and I love her. Larry was struggling with not being used or having a job and I don't have a situation where he can live in turn out. I found a wonderful charter school that has an equine program and he is a lead line lesson horse for little kids. I also donated a rescue mare that we put over 200lbs on that a boarder skipped out on us with. She was an unflappable mare but had lameness problems as well. As much as I'd love to feed them all, it's just not a possibility. Here is what I do have: Chicks Little Bug "Carmen" is an awesome tobiano apha mare that I picked up extremely cheap. She had not had her feet taken care of in over a year but now that we got her all taken care of, is 100% sound and trained to a T. I am tuning her up for reining classes and might take her into the speed events just for the points. She is ten years old. I fell in love with her when we went to pick her up! Do Da Black Beauty "Faith" is my new black mare that I got for the speed events. I LOVE HER. She is really amazing and more than anything just needed some weight and a tune up. She doesn't have the prettiest head in the world and has a crazy blue eye, but so far she's got me leading the az paint horse club in barrel racing, pole bending, and stakes race. She's a natural speed horse, loves her job too. We have plans on attending the fall world show in the SPB Speed Classes. We have done some local jack pots and that kind of thing on her and she is doing really well. Dualing Chic Olena (APHA / AQHA) this is the colt that will be here in September. He is a grandson of Smart Chic Olena by a nrha money earning sire. He has an amazing pedigree and we are soooo excited about him. These pictures are of him at only three days old, I can't believe how much body he has already! He is on allbreedpedigree.com And those are the new ones, we still have Remmy (the red roan horse) and Shelby A Star (the halter mare). She might be in foal to Political Party, the halter stallion son of Mighty Awesome! Next APHA show is in September but we have lots more local stuff between now and then! Just wanted to check in and say hi! | |

| Good digs.. We all go through a lot of horses to get where we want to be.. And, getting those numbers down sure feels good.. Just have to stay in control and not go crazy over all the horses that are out there and are free of close to it.. It's impossible to keep a bunch.. Better to get a few good ones and focus on them.. | |

| Thanks guys I couldn't agree more Bluejay, it feels soooo good to only be feeding and riding four right now. Much easier to take care of and more time spent training and ENJOYING them. I keep knocking on wood, but the best part of everything right now is that everyone is sound. No special farrier work, no vets, no meds. I love being able to get on and not worry about what or how we have to do to keep someone sound. Love not mixing a million feeds and meds. I feel like our horses are getting to where I want them. I like my performance horses a lot and with the paints, the halter isn't so competitive that I can't show them at the state shows just to get state year end awards. We will show the colt in halter just to get him out. He is actually supposed to be a pretty good size and I am very excited about him. It is going to be a very long few years waiting to ride him. But, by the time I'm ready to get on him, he's going to be broke broke broke. I've actually been very lucky buying some next to free horses and putting a little time on them (about 30 days) and reselling. Most of them have just been a little spoiled and need a tune up to find their perfect home. I feel like I'm doing a good thing by getting them good, responsible homes and giving new owners a safe horse too. It doesn't hurt that it helps the banking account lol. I'm extremely happy with my new rodeo horse. Personality wise, we're a very good fit. I am thrilled to have a horse that I know I can go further on. Larry was amazing but he was only going to go so far without him being in pain from the navicular. I'm happy to have found him the home we did. What's really exciting is that most of you know I've struggled with my weight for all of my life and after a lot of time, effort, and research, I will hopefully be getting the lap-band surgery next month. I cannot wait to be back to a healthy weight and can't wait to feel the benefits of good health. I'm sure it will greatly improve my barrel times as well, that's always a plus | |

| Did you finish your CNA course and are you working in the field? I know about the weight thing. When I was younger it was easy to get off. Now, it's almost impossible.. It was very hard for me. But, got mine down to 5. This incudes the two foals this year.. And, I have two mares I leased. Made a huge difference in the cost of feeding and taking care of them.. Feels good.. | |

| I did finish my CNA course and did work for a while, but with the drive (I live in a rural area) it would cost my paycheck in fuel to get back and forth. So, just decided to put my effort into finishing my degree in nursing and riding right now.
My weight has always been very frustrating. I will loose ten pounds, and then plateau there. I understand that's normal, but dieting for six months and only losing ten pounds, that's enough to get anyone down! I just can't wait. I feel like that is going to be the biggest change of my life and I'm sure when I go to work as a nurse, it will be much easier on my body being at a healthy weight.
Wow, 5! I think that is the magic number lol. I am thrilled with what I did. Horses will start to become a job if you spend more time taking care of them than enjoying them. I found myself spending so much time feeding, cleaning, etc. That I had very little time to actually ride and spend quality time with each of them. I am good with 5... It is a number that works for me and is affordable in my budget.

| So glad to hear that you are happy with where your horses are! Good luck with the surgery! I know about weight too, I lost close to 30 pounds in 2 months. I went on a super strict very low fat and very high protein regimine. I put down the cokes and sweet tea. I also worked out 5 days a week. Then I just quit, lol.
If you really make it to Ft Worth let me know! Im just down the highway from the Colisium!
