| The fact you do not know what you want or where to put it means you are not ready.. Tatoos are forever. And, you are too young to know where you want to be in the future.. When I was your age I wanted a black rose tatoo. I could never decide where to put it so never got one thank goodness.. I have no interest in that any more.. What I would like to do and likely never will is get my nose pierced and get a tiny diamond that you can barely see right in the crease of my nose. When I think of the nose ring and it hanging out of my nostril I just haven't been able to do it yet... But, I think that is classy when it's hardly noticed until you turn you head a certain way.. Piercing and tatoos go together.. They are a fad and tell about self asteem on the people who do it.. I think you should wait. I also think you don't need phony stuff to explain who you are.. Just wait, you have all your life to do this and there is no reason to do it now.. To all of you who have mutilated your body to get attention.. I am sorry.. Your stuck with it.... No offense intended.. | |

| Well I know i want a horse thing on my shoulder and thats it..i just don't know what KIND of horse thing. I know its a fad thing but its not like its somewhere that is showing all the time, its not a hard place to cover up. I too really wanted my nose done, my parents FREAKED when i told them but i did it anyways and just have a small stud/diamond in it and they don't care at all after they saw it. its just cute ) | |

| I just got mine done. Its the outline of a reining horse doing a sliding stop on my shoulderblade and I love it.
It was my FIRST and ONLY tattoo. Lol no more of these for me. Btw, it doesn't hurt. Its more annoying.
Just figure out what you like. I'm not a reining person, but I found something with horses and like the look of it. Reining has always been my favorite even to judge when we do horse judging, or watch. I've ridden a friends reining horse a few times. I thought about getting a barrel horse, but I never did.

| One day there will be a bunch of tatooed old ladies.. Course, everything will have shifted and it won't be so pretty... I hope you at least have a good story to tell the young person who is taking care of you and why you did it.... You gotta do what you gotta do.. But, I am happy I never did it.. There are so many changes in our lives. Tatoos are pretty much a moment thing.. I have seen some really nice ones. Like the gal I saw in a store who had exceptional art work on her chest and a low cut blouse to show it off. I thought it really looked nice... But, one day her chest will fall and it will sag with the rest of her body.. I also feel that this should be something you don't hide. Why put one on if it's not out there for the world to see? Lynn's thing with her kids is great. They will be forever and not just a moment.. This is what I mean by forever.. | |

Thats exactly what I said! Its wasnt like I was gettin something stupid or totally meaningless.. Even if I dont ride later in life, which unless something huge happens, I doubt will happen, Horses will be a big part of my life. They have and will always mean a lot to me.. Ill get a pic up when I can. I'm gettin it touched up again Sunday. The black on the lines bled out and theres a few light spots..

| "at least I hope" still tells me you are not ready.. I have loved horses all my life.. But, spent many years away from them and doing other things that were important for that time in my life.. I still never felt the need to carve those things in my body.. I know a lady in her 60's that loves humming birds. She has some really pretty and tasteful tatoos of them. One, goes around the top of her arm and the other looks like an ankle bracelet. She got lucky and found a really good artist to do them for her. And, they look like accessories to what she is wearing.. I also heard something funny on a talk show today about tatoos.. One of the stars was asked if she had any and she replied "would you put a bumper sticker on a Bently?" If you must carve your body pick something pretty that can only be seen by some. I think some I have seen just above the crack on your butt that are pretty don't look bad.. (not looking at butt cracks, but the low slung pants make them stick out when you bend over). Like maybe a nice running horse that is of color you can tell right away what it is? Right about the spot a bikini would come too but not cover it.. Or, just some pretty pastale angel wings.. | |

| Working in labor and delivery, I see some well intentioned tattoos gone bad Just remember that as your body changes, so does the tattoo. Choose wisely | |

| I agree with Denibun remember they sag colors fad and no matter what people say some areas hurt! I will never regret having my children's name I thought about it for a long time and my hubby has a matching tattoo with papa it is funny but there is a lot of people who have adopted from China with Chinese symbol tatoos somewhere. I remember a story out of FL about an older lady 70s or 80s that got her initials on her shoulder so they could identify her in a hurricane cracked me up and it was so tasteful... I guess at that age you can do whatever and most people dont judge | |

| This is all true. Who does the art work has to be the best.. Many are not. And, things do change. One thing that never changes is your children. No matter what happens in life they will always be your babies.. The last job I had I took care of a Chinese couple. They are 97yrs old this year.. They have been together most their lives.. They and their family are the best people I think I have ever met.. When I would go in to their suite in the morning to check on them they were sleeping in bed in the spoon position with his arms around her.. Still after all these years.. They are the a perfect example of forever.. Kich and Kie Lee are their names.. They warmed my heart.. This is some thing we all dream of.. But, few achieve.. | |

| LOLO.. Well, after all my chatter I got my first tattoo at 54 yrs old.. My Mother had breast cancer and has been cancer free for a year now. We had a big party at her house with breast cancer education for the younger granddaughters (great granddaughters) and all of over 18 got cancer awareness tattoos.. Mine is a butterfly with the pink ribbon for a body.. My Mother even got one.. Wasn't hard for me to make a decision on that one.. | |
