Last Pep foal

Born this evening. His dam was tied while I was mucking out her stall. She pulled back and snapped the snap. She took off into the hayfield and somewhat later, had her foal. Wade & I drove out and brought him to the barn in the box of my truck.

You sure got the color this year! I love that pink tounge sticking out.

The whole ride back in the truck he was trying to suck on me. Once he figured out that his mom was the source of food, he started spending a lot of time moseyed up to the bar. That tongue was out and trying to suck constantly.
Went out this morning, fed & watered his mom then spent some time with him. He likes attention so far. His full brother from last year was a real attention hog. I'm hoping tis guy is good and friendly too. Poor guy, he's so much younger than the others. He more than three months younger than Cody, the last foal we had and over 5 months younger than Scotty. He'll have no close buddy his own age.
Yeah, Pep has always been good about throwing color. Nothing but red duns for us for the last 3 foal crops.

Here's some pics I took today. I turned them out for a while. It was really hot earlier and the fan in the barn wouldn't work due to a breaker problem.

He looks like he is gonna be a little chunk. That is one color I dont have in my pasture. So if he comes up missing I dont no who would of taken him.

He is so cute for a boy... Nice foal..
