| Is was -13 F here this morning. Snowed another 2" of snow over the 2' we already had. Oh, and all the ice from when we got a really warm patch where it rained here. This time of year our normal is about -6 Celcius. We have a forecasted high of -19 Celcius today. I'm feeling like I'll never see spring or green grass again. | |

| Just watched the forecast for this week. It will be in the 80's by the middle of the week. The only catch is we are going to have what they call "mild winds". In reality that means throw the ropes over the house and barn.
Come on steady summer days...

| It was close to 70* here yesterday....I spent a couple of hours burning some old hay. The horses were pretty entertained watching the fun. The cheat grass and tumble weeds are coming up....I'm thinking about getting another goat. The grandkids would love one!!! | |

But unless this cold front coming in drop further south, we are warm for the week end! Woo hoo! Oh but then today we have our Weather tests, you know for that lovely spring weather! Tornados Hee Hee Blue Jay is right. Humid Hot weather is not that far away. But at least I wont be breaking ice in the outside tanks, and my hands freezing.. Brrrrrrr

| Toby has a hoof abscess so I'm soaking his foot in hot water/epsom salts twice a day. Talk about cold...getting your hands wet and pulling them out in 15 degree air...Brrrr. | |

Actually, it was really weird. He was never even lame at all. When I brought him in from t he pasture Sunday evening, I noticed a little blood on the hair just above his hoof. He was not lame at all. I fed and after he finished eating, I hosed it off to see where the cut was. There wasn't one, but there was a slit just below the hairline on his hoof so it was an abscess at the coronet band. Like I said, he never took a lame step and I've been soaking it, but it looks like it's gonna be fine.
