| Hey kay! Are you alright? We're okay. I am at work today. We don't have power at home...haven't for 60 hours or so now. The house was 50 degrees this morning. That was a little cool getting out of the s hower. Let me tell ya. My fences are down everywhere with limbs all over the place. The horses are up but my heated buckets are not working and the barn is dark. I have the back stall doors open with chains on them for light, but the big front garage door is frozen shut. Come on spring!!! | |

| Our area is famous for freezing rain. More so then snow. The winter blast we had dropped almost a foot of snow clear down in the city. Then as it melted it decided to freeze and man was it bad. I live in a wooded area. It was really scary going down those roads hoping those tree's didn't come down on top of me. Then it melted and rained like I have never seen it rain. Flash floods and the tree's that were already stressed from the weight of the snow and ice came on down.. It looked like a war zone around here too. So, I know just what you mean. We were only out of power for two days. We have a nice generator that runs the well, lights in the house and most important the TV.. Wood stove to keep us warm.. I am glad that is over with.. | |

| HI, All Got power back about half an hour ago. 1.5 to 2 inches of Ice then 3 inches of snow. We lost power Tuesday. Its been an something else. They are saying kentucky has 130,000.00 with out. Now I know that doesnt sound like much but you have to remember, we are very rural. No cities, just a couple large towns, Henderson did not lose power threw out. We had no phone service either, not even on our cells. Ive taken a couple of pics before my batter went dead. We were able to get all the horses in the barn, the yearlings are sharing a stall. They love it. If we dont lose power, Ill post a couple of pics later. Denibum, Id much rather had snow! We lost some of our trees. I brought them from home 21 years ago. Broke my heart. Our power keeps flichering.. Crossing my fingers it holds out! | |

| I just came back to the office from feeding the horses. We still don't have power...no school til Monday. Nick's not happy about being stalled for 3 days so he's not eating or drinking I'm going to my mother in laws for the night where its warm. A few people have power back here, but I saw where some places in KY are saying it will be mid February before they get all the power restored. I'm glad you're okay Kay. Hope your power stays on. Where is that durn groundhog? Denise | |

| Come on groundhog! I got my power back and we got the fences put back up this morning. It was down in at least 10 different places because of limbs. The old men are out playing in the snow. My own bed felt so good last night. | |

| Boy, do I feel guilty! We have blue skies...Temp in the mid 50s. I just came in from playing with the horses. We'll pay for the good weather later....A lot of wells around here are going dry. There's been a drought here for the better part of 20 years. The Humboldt River is all but dry. | |

| I was putting Nick and Toby out in the pasture this morning. They just stand at the round bale out there anyway. Rachel had Nick and I had Toby. Nick is shoeless so he was doing okay making it across the driveway and yard to the gate. Toby has shoes so he was sliding a little. I was telling him "easy, easy" and he was taking little baby steps. Well, I hit an ice patch and my feet flew out from under me and down I went. I still had the lead rope in my hand and I fell right under Toby's neck. He never moved a muscle, just leaned his head down to sniff me and then I pulled myself up using him for leverage. Good thing he didn't get excited. My butt was hurting enough without him falling on top of me. | |

| I'm fine. Just glad I had a steady horse with me when it happened. I've had the boys turned out a few ho urs a day since Saturday. THey were wound up with no turnout. Of course, if I had an indoor, it would all be good. | |
