Rachel and Toby

Rachel and Toby had their first ride yesterday. He's an out of shape guy with a little bit of a sway back and a heart of gold.

What a good ole guy! Where was Cletus? His feelings will be hurt!

Cletus was at home. His feelings would not be hurt if he was never, ever asked to work again. He's getting new shoes tomorrow so he can go back to work. Then, I can get some video of him and sell his hiney.

so does mean a new horse, or another one!

Eventually it will mean a new horse, but definitely not until Cletus is gone.

Those are the best guys to have!! Hes got that beautiful color too. He almost matches the fall-ish background, the trees and such. How old is he?

He's 23...24 in the spring.

A good gelding is worth his weight in gold. How is he bred? He looks like a pretty stocky dude, big boned guy.

He is by Mexicali Copper who was by Spanish Ruler. On bottom he is out of a Wimpy bred mare. He's definitely got the old foundation bulldog look, but I don't if he really is high percentage or not.

Well is this next years 4-H and open show project??? Hummmmmmmmm

Well, he started out to be mine...

However, he and Rachel have clicked far more than she ever did with Cletus...so much so that I now have her permission to sell Cletus. For now, he'll be the show horse for next year. Once we sell Cletus, we'll see how it's going and either get me a new horse or her a new horse.

He will build her confindence for now. Thats worth a bunch!

She didn't have a good year with Clete last year. She was not at all afraid of him, but they would practice and practice and have great practice runs, but when it came show time, he was frazzled. Having to fight with a horse all the time is not fun so she was no longer having fun. Toby will be fun for her. Cletus was more work than fun.

From what I've heard those Wimpy horses are known for being really great animals good minds etc.. wouldn't mind owning one myself. Sounds like such a nice old guy, glad he found a home with you where he can have a wonderful old age.

I really liked his bloodlines because Nickel Bar is a Wimpy bred horse and he's awesome!
