why do we do it

Why is it that when you go away for a weekend something at home always goes wrong.

Had call while away that my foal has gone through a fence,degloved his skin and muscle. Same place as the last time he went through fence. He was due to go to his new home shortly as we are weaning him gently off his mum. He spends the day in field right next door to her and has been so good at this routine for a while but NO while im away and i leave them in charge of my daughter all hell breaks loose and all goes horribly wrong.

My daughter is so distraught bless her. My friends have been great and he and his mum is down the vets as he has to be operated on tonight.

My poor daughter didnt realise she should have put him back in field before getting her horse out of another field before she rode around having fun.She was going to put him away after she ridden,reckon thats what set him off.Poor kid

They said he did huge slide on grass right in front of electric fence and the grass just made for of a slide. He slid straight into top fence,stopped got a shock off fence which made him jolt and then it sprung him forward with the shock straight through electric tape.

so yet another vet bill.

saying that while at show this weekend my daughter showed my black filly for the first time for the pair of them in ,in hand 2 year old trail and won the class.Danielle won money and a real nice trophy,very proud mum moment.

Oh thats horrible! Poor foalie, I sure hope he gets better and everything goes well in the op.

sounds like you have the luck I did in 2006-2007. Injury after injury. It absolutely sucks! But like I always say, If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none at all!

Seems like when it rains it pours! Then thank goodness for the dry spells. In the world of vet bills I mean.

Sorry to hear that. I hope every thing is going OK. Those vet bills will wipe you out. We sure have had a few big ones here.. I pray nothing happens now since we cannot afford anymore and would not be able to at least try to get through an injury or illness.
