| As you guys know i took on an allround mare, sent her back but have since got her back again as she is now sound. Well i have a 3 months loan contract to try this horse as of the 1st Aug,the owner of horse then phones me yesterday and says that she needs a op can she have some of her money now. While talking she asked have i had her vetted yet,i said not yet but to be honest i feel she will fail because as soon as a vet does the pincher test of feet she will go through the roof of which the owner agreed. Also i feel she will fail on flexion alone.(do i shed out money and get her vetted anyway to prove my point)
Also when farrier comes, she rears very high when he takes off front shoes and does anything with them, the owner didnt tell me this part but has since admitted she does it.
Another thing while i trail ride her she spooks at almost everything but im ok with that as she has only ever been an arena ridden horse but i feel i can get her over this in time.
The horse isnt is as she being advertised. She is quite a spooky horse outside an arena in all areas.
Meanwhile to add to this, the owner of horse knows i was waiting on some money which i will have end of this month from sale of broodmare but in honesty thats not her concern anyway but i was being up front and honest with her before i took on this horse.
She also wont let me or my daughter take this horse to a show on a permit to see how she reacts at a show but now wants more money for that so called privilage. As she knows this horse has issues.
Do i just say come get you horse or wait till contract has expired as she breaking the contract by wanting some money now,of which she will still lose out as she wont have this money for her so called operation she needs so she says. There is no one out there willing to buy this horse at the price she looking for anyway.
Do i just say sorry no,i can find a better horse for that price that dont have these issues that will pass a vetting and continue looking elsewhere. The said horses price is £8,000 which is $15.270 your money.
I know that shipping would cost me £4,000 which is near $8,000 yours so i still think if i take off shipping i can still find something decent.
Whats your thoughts on this?

| Right now, with the way horses are priced over here, I would send that mare right back and tell them to stick it. I hate it when people lie, or excuse me, withold the truth... yeah, ok. I'm sure you've heard this saying before, the one that goes no feet, no horse... This mare sounds like she has some issues, and for the price, it's just not worth it. | |

| Well ive contacted owner and said come get your horse because breach of contract and all the other stuff.
She almost shouted down phone that she agrees the horse will fail vetting and as she knows i like this horse of which i do as we really click and other people have said this too, she said how much would i pay for her,so i said broodmare price , she ringing me in morning with her decision.
If its even 1 pound over what i said the horse will go back. Told her i can get better for same value of money with no issues that will pass a vetting.
Was blunt and to the point

| Regarless of price coming down I would send the horse back. I would not even want it if it were free. I do not have any desire to work with a horse that is not only lame but has no mind to boot. There are just too many out there to put up with that. Not even for just a broodmare. I would not be nasty about it. Just say it did not work out for me. Her problems are not yours. I am sure you have plenty of your own to worry about like the rest of us. Doesn't matter about the contract. I would tell them to come and get it, or haul it myself. There is no reason to keep feeding and caring for the horse when it's not what you want. | |

| BlueJay is right here, this mare is only going to cost you money down the line with her lameness issues. Not to mention, who wants a horse with an undependable personality? Look at the horses I showed you yesterday, they didn't have any listed soundness problems and from what I believe, were well in your price range too... I know importing might take a little more effort, but don't you think it will be worth it? | |

| Ive not had a lameness issue since she has been back with me,she is correctly shod now even though she rears high in air and almost goes over.Farrier thinks she has been hurt by a farrier in the past.
Her spooky problems out hacking out in forest will sort itself out in time as she has never done this before,it will just take time.
Which is why i wondering what to do?
If i buy another say from over with you guys, most im finding are only arena ridden and have never even seen traffic where as this horse is very good in traffic.
Im just in a real dilemma as to what to do.
Im so worried that if i get another i could land myself in bigger trouble.
With you guys its ok to inject joints but over here its a firm no no.So i would have to find a sound horse thats never had injected joints and is sound in hocks and fetlocks.
What would pass a vetting there, wont necessary pass over here as i found out that time when i brought that pleasure mare that time that broke my back.
As you can tell im so torn.
This horse i know when she spooks she always spins to the right, spooks at people walking towards her, spooks at people blackberry picking, she just very nervous out of the arena. In the arena she breathes and relaxs.
Saying all this, when i rode her out yesterday with my kids, the kids went off to jump some natural jumps in forest and as they were going away from us my horse wouldnt stand still and even did a mini rear in temper. But again i put this down to the fact she drawing on there horses for confidence.I have taken her out on the own with my hubby on a bike and yes you can really feel her nerves but she will still try for you. Again i keep saying this im sure will get better the more she does this.
I THINK I CAN HEAR FROM HERE WHAT YOU ARE ALL YELLING HEHEHE

| But here's the thing... You wanted something your daughter can ride too. Even if your daughter is a confident rider, do you feel comfortable letting her on this horse, and handling this horse right now? I'm sorry, but for that price, I would almost expect that horse to pick up it's own poop. I would surely NOT expect that horse to rear (even if it is a mini rear) considering how dangerous that is. What if she were to do that at a show? Or with your daughter on her? It's just that with what you've told me you're looking for, you can find that, and for a whole lot cheaper... It might just take a little longer.
At the end of the day though, it's your decision 100%. It's just most of our suggestions to run the other way.

| I like the gray and would find out about her being ridden outside the arena. Tell them to water the arena.. They can send you video of that as well. And, prices are negociable. I would not spend a dime or even take a free one that has problems. I like this mare... | |

| I like the grey mare! I like that she actually MOVES OUT! She carries her head nicely and looks overall balanced. Her spin could use a bit of work, but hey, that is something worth the time... I vote for the grey, she's pretty too! | |

| On the matter of the grey mare, She does move out, but.. When is suppose to be slower she is still moving forward, and not collecting. She is wanting to let her shoulder fall. The rider is always picking and lifting. Id like to see a ride that is not edited! Id like to her the reins dropped and let her run a pattern, with out being picked at to see is she can hold it togather, I can hold a horse togather if Im allowd to pick at it, but for some reason a judge takes off for that! Hmmmm Wonder way! | |

| Looks like a nice horse to just put around on. It does not mention any points or accomplishments other then being a good trail horse. It does mention the man who owns her doing well. But, not on that horse. That is a lot of money for a trail horse. You really need to write down exactly what you want the horse you buy to be able to do. Seems you get excited about a horse that is not everything you mentioned you wanted . You can trail ride on a nice grade horse that cost little to nothing. If you want a good show horse, trail and brood mare I think this is not the one. Be patient so you get every thing you want for that hard earned cash you have to spend. | |
