| Ok - so I have NEVER used a fake tail - but Garrett's boss bought 2 tails to put on 2 TB yearlings at a sale this weekend.... HA HA HA
So - I get to put them in - the horses are supposed to wear them ALL weekend (except in the morning when they get a bath)...
I haven't seen them but Garrett says they have a loop...
Garrett's boss just wants the tails to be "fuller" and wants him to trim down the fake tails to look more "natural" instead of having them cut straight across
ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |

| You need to take them out at night also because if they lay down in their stall, they will rip out the tail. Plus, if they wear them too long they will start getting itchy and might try to rub the tail. I would take it out at night and put it in after you bathe them in the morning. A loop tail is probably the easiest type to braid in. | |

| Well, I never leave mine in All night. Depending on the tail you'll need that color of tape. Me I use, Big Pony tail holders, most use electric tape. I like the loops, Since mine are preformance horses, I braid the loop in at the top of the braid, keep braiding until I cover the knob, the braid in a few more strands from below to give it a more stable look, wont wag as much. Im doing this in my head, hope this makes sense.. | |

| Thanks so much! I get to try it tomorrow hehe - at least we're trying it on the "cheaper" horses - whew - I really don't want to mess up one of the others.... This sale is so much fun! Unlike the last one where it was all Garrett and me, this one we are just employees so that makes it so much easier - kind of a mini-vacation where we work from 5am-5pm and then get a nice dinner and a shower and a hotel room with cable It takes very little to make us happy! | |
