For me it's a relief to get those numbers down. We have 5 here now, one at the trainers and one coming home in a few weeks. It takes like an half an hour to clean the barn. That is down from two hours. Feels so good..
My husband keeps asking what I need from the feed store..
We were going threw a ton of oats a month. Not to mention all the hay that is running 300.00 ton now. I have also found some ways to cut back cost without having an impact on the health of the horses. I turned off every other light in the stalls. This alone saves us 40.00 a month on the light bill. I use a 2lb scoop on the oats now twice a day instead of the 3lb scoop I was using.
I still have a few to let go. Two foals coming next year. I am a tack horder and should go through the blankets, sheets, sleazy's, halters/show halters, wraps and all the other stuff I have that I do not use and sell it. I even have stuff I bought and never used.
