On February 5, a very good friend of mine had a tragedy befall her and her family. Early in the morning, they were woken up by a big bang. Looking out her bedroom window, Cindy saw something that all of us never want to see...her indoor riding arena and barn were in flames.

By 8 am, the fire was out...and the damage was being assessed. Her loss included 11 horses - 1 stallion, 2 broodmares, 2 promising two-year-old colts, and 6 of her 2006 foals. Along with them, her "shadow", Sevyn, a rottwieler and numerous cats.

Cindy and her family also lost all their tack and miscellaneous horse equipment, medicines etc.

Since that day, the community (both horsey and otherwise) has rallied to her aid. A new building has been erected so far (a coverall) so she at least has a small building to put her feed undercover as well as a horse or two if needbe. She has received numerous donations of tack (new and used), feed and help from the community.

But even with insurance, we all know that it isn't enough to cover everything completely.

On March 17, 2007, we will be having a dinner and dance for the family in South Cooking Lake, Alberta CANADA. We are also having a silent auction that night as well as a small stallion service auction with local stallions. The internet community is such that this story has reached far and wide and we have received many stallion service donations from all over North America - from Texas to Illinois to western Canada. Due to the overwhelming response we have set up a page on Cindy's website dedicated just to the stallion services.

There are a lot of beautiful stallions on there up for cheap bid! Some from the US, but mostly from Canada. I suggest you all check it out, there is some world champion blood there, and also some world champion stallions!

We are trying to help out Shorty and her family as much as we can (she's my neighbour) and this seems to be a good idea so far, we just need more exposure for these great stallions!
