| I understand the color you are looking for. I think the mare looks good.. But, she is way to short. The paint people want them TALL.. And, just because they are loud color does not mean they produce that.. You can still get a BS out of that. She is just not tall enough for me. | |

| Im not to worried on size anything from 14.3hh - 15.3hh is ok. Not after anything to really show in APHA classes over here as quite frankly its not worth the entry fee and travelling. She is purely for fun, riding and showing in English coloured classes of which my kids want to do.Later breeding. | |

| Yes mare is correct.. She is 4yrs old and goes to Bright and Bold and Macho Mount (on her papers). No HYPP.. She is a very nice mare and has a great mind. I have owned her since she was a yearling. She is only for sale do to health issues with my husband and a reduction in income.. Here are some other shots out in pasture.. She can go any direction. And, would be easy to take there.. That is why I am not asking much for her and need her to go to a home where she will be loved like she has been with us.. I love her pink skin.. \ She loves the color Green.. Big boned and nice big feet. She is also very correct. 16H with two blues eye.. She is a sweet heart.. | |

| Bluejay, she really is a nice mare but for us here she going to be to tall.Riding her in forest we would get ourselves knocked off by trees and there branches. She little to old for me aswell really want something from this year or a yearling.Unless a broodmare that rides good too.SORRY
Other than that i like her.

| TJ, I didn't dis like the horses you put up here.. I thought they did not have enough color. Shaz, I thought you said young one I did like the foal on the one you sent. And, agree that the mare looked base wide. That could be from all the chest she has on her. Over here if they are not tall they do not even get a look in riding or halter. Around here anyway. You should be able to pick up a nice one if you do not want them very tall and looking for a younger horse.. | |

| i certainly am looking for a baby.
To be honest ive got a dual reg mare and if it wasnt for her being such a nice horse to be around i would sell her as she to tall. A nice filly to make 15.1 ish would be perfect.

| Where we live,if we lucky enough to go drag hunting for i think its a season we are allowed to go on the pony drifts which is where we round up the new forest ponies.Great fun but not on a 15.3hh or above horse where you have to duck and dive all the time.
What made it fashionable for these tall horses.I was always led to believe that the quarter horse could do anything.Like you said Bluejay the old stocky type did all that and then some.

| The big breeders breed for it, the big time trainers choose those horses, and the judges pin them. If the judges would start pinning the real QH's, instead of the "half elephants" (I love that one, by the way), then the trainers and breeders would get on board. But guess who has the money? And that is why the horses are such monsters. | |

| I do think we have lost the versatility of the Quarter Horse. I know people say the breed is still versatile. Some do HUS. Some do WP. Some do halter, etc. However, I like the horses that can do it all. Nick is really that kind of horse...ya know, show him in SMS, walk/trot, pleasure, barrels, poles, go round up the cows, etc. I don't think there are many around like that anymore. I would buy a few more like him if I could find them, but they don't seem to be as common. Of course, he is 29 so that's what he was bred to be. Cletus is not that kind of horse. He does not have the mind for it. | |

| What I do not like about the foundation bred is the inconsitency in how they look. I have not seen many that I think are pretty at all. There is too wide of a range for the lines.. I do like the modern look. However, I do not like to look at a QH or Paint that looks like a TB.. I am old school and like the roached mane, tail to the hock, big cheek and rounded off bull dog look.. Some of the uglest horses I have seen are foundation bred, small and some HUGE person riding the hell out of them. Not a pretty picture to me at all.. They also brought HERDA, in to the picture along with HYPP and the other crap the breed has.. Then there are the monster horses.. I like that look in a draft.. | |
