| One of the girls that RAchel shows in 4h with here has a really nice mare. It seems like Rachel always finishes reserve to MOrgan's grand. Rachel loves sho wing with her even if she never does beat her, but I pulled that mare's show record out of curiosity and all I can say is wow. She's some tough 4h competition.

| Hey I KNOW HER! I beat her with MY FLOWY! When she went into AM. the year after she stepped up from youth. Janie Lucus was her trainer when she hauled for AQHA All Around youth that year. Julie had a Santa Claus on her trailer! Golly, I didn't realize Daisy was coming up on 20! | |

| Yep, she is and still kicking butt. Julie is MOrgan's trainer. She comes to alot of shows with them. Janie is still around too. Rachel took a few lessons from her in the fall and I need to get her hooked back up for a few more. Here's Daisy now. She's in the middle here. Here they are last year. Oh my gosh, Rachel has really changed in a year. Morgan was grand in SMS and Rachel was reserve. | |

| You know the first couple of years that they showed Daisy, I assumed she was APHA. Then, they mentioned hitting some AQHA shows and I said, "Huh, thought she was a paint." I guess just because of the amount of white and the funny patch on her leg. I don't know. That's just what I thought. | |

| Yep, DuQuoin last year was their first AQHA show. THey're planning on going to Cloverdale, DuQuoin, and I can't remember where else this year to get their feet wet (Morgan's feet...Daisy already has the experience). | |

| MOrgan is a better rider than Rachel. She has been riding since she was 5, but it is very good for Rachel to ride with her. It causes Rachel to work harder. | |

| Julie had her for a long time. Morgan has had her for probably 3 years, but they only showed that one show. They'd probably be better off at Sturgis too, but they wanna go for the big time. I'm more of a little pond fish.

| Wow, your 4-H must be a lot different than ours. We have only two families that have really shown in our club. One is obviously my family, and the other one goes to a few of the local open shows now and then. | |

| We have a show barn that has probably 6-8 kids that are riding there at any given time. Their son is also in 4h. Then, we have some others who show outside of that barn too. The competition is always pretty tough at fair. | |

| I almost wish our club was competitive. They even give the kids the patterns for SMS and HMS about 2 weeks ahead of time. And this is the first year I have gotten them to not practise the patterns at lessons. The pattern should not be taught in my opinion. Learning the pattern and deciding how to do it is part of those classes. If competition was tougher here, maybe I could persuade Wade to get Brennen a better horse. He really likes Sandy, but she's still pretty green and not up to big competition. | |

| The competition is very tough at our county 4-H as well. We have alot of families showing regularly at breed shows. But our county also gives the pattern at least two weeks before fair for all pattern classes, except championships which you can buy the day fair starts. What I have found though is that the kids who could really stand that two weeks of practice don't bother to look at the pattern and the younger, dedicated kids will practice, but the older kids like my daughter read them and try to memorize them but don't really practice the pattern as a whole, because the horse can get a little dull if he practices the smae pattern too much.. | |

| I don't allow my kids to practise the patterns on their horses. We do them on foot to help memorize them, but you can tell which kids practised the patterns to death. There is a book which has set patterns for 4-H here, but our instructors pick our patterns so that we don't overface them. | |

| We get the pattern posted about 30 minutes prior to the start of our show and SMS is right after the halter classes. | |
