| Holy crap! haha the ground was froaen and it warmed up yesterday so it thawed and then it rained! 9 inches in one hour our basement has 8 inches of standing water in it! my friends family is coming ot stay with us becuase they had to evacuate we're lucky becuase we live in an old famrhouse and its up on a hill so we don't have to leave but the rivers are all over flown I think we're going to take some horses for a friend too -- if the town says its okay (we're not zoned for it) becuase we have a fenced in field at the barn they were at it is in a lowland right next to a reservior they were up to their forarms in water I'm sick of water! off to wet dry vac! Here's some pictures (they are taken by the town newspaper that's why their so good lol) That's the Weekeepeemee river which is a very small river (a creek realy) that starts of to the right of the road and kinda follows the road but it flooded the entire field on the left This is a hay-field across town that is now a lake! | |

| I feel for ya. I know there's a couple of places when it starts flooding here, I can't even get to town. Well, I probably could the real "back way", but heckie pooh, ya know... Course the boys thinks it's funny when that happens... Mom, we can't get to school. My pond's overflowed twice, it just heads straight down the dam and the hill to the live creek which spills into a big pond behind us, and into our big creek at the back... and boy, that sucker is super deep! Course my barn's kind of sitting in a low spot... don't go there - and no, I didn't build it there. When we were getting so much rain, we'd dug a ditch through the barn so it wouldn't mess up the stalls, and boy, those little mice holes, you never seen water coming through - weirdest thing I've ever seen. Stupid little mice! | |

| haha
we are officially dry! well a little damp in the basement and the barn/shed is kind of muddy but Gordie the ever so spoiled goat is in the garage and couldn't care less!
The smell is getting better and my friend is probably going back to her house tomorrow
The horses are staying until the weekend! lol it is so cool waking up in the morning and seeing horses in my yard! --- I'm thinking of writing the mayor and seeing if we could keep a horse on our property we have 2 acres that isn't woods and the farm was here long before the zoning regulations plus, it would be for 4-h and FFA haha I have some persuading to do!
thankfully there haven't been any injuries or deaths -- I really feel for the people that have been affected by the tornados | |
