not good with the events you are looking for... if you decide you want a really good handle put on her I can hook you up and for a good price and she can be close to me... I'll keep my eye on her for you... as far as those events ask on pleasure horse if there is anyone in Wichita KS if she is going to have to come to Oklahoma she would have to go though here anyway and she could be in my backyard and I could visit her regular and keep you posted. Just an idea.

I agree with Lynn, since your Mare isn't broke to ride, I'd get a good handle put on her and then have a trainer there in the UK finish her.

What about Jackie Krshka, my trainer knows her very well. I've never had a horse in training with Jackie, but she's been quite successful. I'm not sure if she does all of the events you are interested in, but she's had World Champions in Reining, Western Riding and HUS, I bet she'll put a good start on your horse.

Here's a link to her website, she's in Yukon, OK.

I'm sure Jackie could finish your mare too, I just wasn't sure how long you intended to have her here in the states. Smile

If location isn't an issue, you may want to check out Shawn Deal in Cauldwell, ID. He trains halter, rail, and trail....roping too I think. I've watched him and his wife show a several times....And he's an AQHA judge. I was going to send Tucker to him....but then I found Van.

I would have to agree with Lynn. Having someone right there to keep an eye on them for you is the only way I would go. Otherwise you are very vunerable to get screwed.. And, most the trainers will screw you if you are not watching them all the time.. Rolling Eyes

No hate mail. I know some of you are very happy with your trainers.. More power to you.. Any one who does this for a living cannot possibly do what they claim they do when they have a barn full of paying customers.. They will nickle and dime you to death, screw up your horse and think nothing of it. Now, I am sure there are people out there that do an honest days work for you.. I have not seen one yet.. Even the last one I had that was one of those that really did do what she said she did stopped once she had the barn full. Even with her friend doing half the work for her.. This is my experience with trainers and I would never have one of mine some place where I myself or a trusted friend was not keeping a close eye on my horse and my money.. No

Location isnt an issue as im going to have to pay to transport her to quarantine facility anyway.

Just want to find a good person shall we say that will look after her and once trained possibly show her too.Until she flys home.

I will if hubby allows come visit her.

If southern California would work for you, I would recommend my trainer, Cathy Hanson. I've known her for over 20 years, she's had an AQHA reserve WC in Jr. Western Riding and mulitple top ten finishes. She does trail, WP & WR, and she's the only person I would send my horse to and not feel like I had to check on them constantly. She or her associate trainer ride the horses. If you wanted to send her here, I'll be happy to keep and eye on her for you and send you video of her progress.

I'm like the rest of the members here, I'd definitely suggest you put her somewhere close to somebody on here, so they can do a peek and pics for ya. Wish I could help, but I don't know any trainers either. If it was summer, and the time had already changed, I'd say keep her here, so Rick can break her out, but it'll be a while before the time changes.

Here's Cathy's website: http://www.hansonquarterhorses.com/cathy_hanson.html

Here's her email: chansonqh@aol.com

Since I'm rope now, I'm not in training with her anymore (I just go down for lessons from time to time) so I'm not sure what she charges, but if you email her I'm sure she can give you the details. She usually has a waiting list to get into her barn, so even if you aren't sure where you want your horse to go, you might put yourself on the list.
