I did from some of the Comm. Members, Not makeing sense, Will increase show numbers... ???? Hello! scratch

Edited this was one reply...

Yes, there has been several people who are unhappy but there are several that are ready for change. I don't know what will transpire with the pts but this discussion was never about any rule changes or proposals. First of all it is against PHBA rules if we did do something like this at the think tank. The round table wasn't formally called to the national directors, we wanted a discussion to generate ideas to get to the apa's for their show season in 2008. So we just decided to hold a round table discussion for ALL PHBA members. We are trying to build PHBA from the local level with new members, bringing back the breeders and trainers. Any ideas or programs that come from this think tank will be put into an APA handbook for each one to look at to see if they can implement anything from it.
Change is always hard and that is what we have to do if this association wants to prosper again.

Hope you can make the discussion in OKC
sent by a comm. member SSFZ stallion owner.

Yeah Right! Ill make the convention. But by then it will be set in stone and my concern will be out the window! Evil or Very Mad

Gee, I have only received 2 letters back, Im kinda disappointed, they could have at least responded. I have spent tons of money showing PHBA so I would think that would warrant an answer.

I am hearing thru the GOOD grapevine, they are going to try to skip over this at the Think Tank meeting. My state club is sending someone that is very involved with PHBA to the meeting and the board meeting the next day. I am hoping she will have some strong input.

I URGE all Palomino People PLEASE keep sneding those emails and or letter to PHBA.

Good to hear someone is going on behalf of your state club. It really sounds to me like some one's personal agenda.. And, they will try to skip right over it.. No

That's why we showed more AQHA this year.... not many PHBA stallions out there in our shows... so looks like we're sticking with AQHA now even more for 2008!

To the PHBA Membership:

As you may know, a change in the point scale used by PHBA was approved by the PHBA Executive Board. The National Directors at the 2007 PHBA Convention in , directed the President to appoint a task force whose role was to make recommendations to the Executive Board regarding several issues of the Show Rules Committee. The point scale change was scheduled to go into effect on .

The PHBA Executive Board, following additional consideration of the potential impact of the new point scale may have, has recently decided to postpone the effective date of the new point scale until .

Additionally, the Executive Board is directing the Show Rules Committee to review the new point scale and any other rules that may be related and/or affected by the change to the scale. This would include, but not be limited to, the number of points required to earn a ROM, ,Champion, Supreme Champion, as well as the WS qualifying points.

The board recognizes the importance this issue has in the minds of the membership and we wish to provide an additional time frame for the members and directors to review and discuss the new point scale. This postponement does not reverse the board’s approval of the new point scale. It simply delays the implementation of the scale to afford more time for study.

Many comments on this issue have been shared by e-mail and other means. These opinions have covered the wide range of points and concerns, both for and against the new point scale. Unfortunately, some of the information being shared is out of context and/or not factual. It is the board’s hope that this delay in the use of the new point scale will provide members the opportunity to obtain accurate information surrounding this new point scale, and to come together in a positive atmosphere to consider this change.

Those wishing to speak directly to the Executive Board regarding the new point scale will be given the opportunity to do so during the upcoming board meeting at the Biltmore, in on . If you need more information, or wish to attend the meeting and Think Tank (which will be held November 10th at the Biltmore), please contact PHBA for details. Lulu Wilcox is the Show Rules Chairperson.

Please be advised that no further action on the point scale is contemplated by the Executive Board until after the Show Rules Committee and National Directors have completed the requested study/review at the 2008 Convention.

Thank you for your interest and support of the palomino horse, your APAs, and PHBA.

Take care, stay safe,

Alda Buresh, PHBA President
