Here in Kentucky, we have a Ky Breeders Incentive Fund Program.
Are you ready for this, they just sent the checks out and the points are worth a $2700.00 Per point!
Yep, thats Right cheers $2700.00 Per point cheers

OK, there is a catch.

Must be bred in the state of kentucky
Stallion must stand in kentucky
no AI Shipping out of the state
Mare must foal in Kentucky.

I know Tucker is dead, But I can still put him in the incentive fund.
$1000.00, talked to 7 Ceders, Im thinking about doing this and taking my mare off the market since she is in foal and only about 5 months off.

$2700.00 A POINT! Dang it! The news was just released not a week ago!

Arrow So, ya think I should spend the moneyQuestion Even though he is dead???

How does that work? If you put him in it and someone else owns the horse that meets those qualifications, who gets the money you or the owner? Or do you split it or something?

Stallion owners get a percentage, Foals are worth soooo much more and one of the mares is my Yellow colts mom back in foal to Tucker. Mostly you get the most money by showing.

You already know what I said... GO FOR IT! Raise the mare you have for sale's price... I guarantee you I'd do it!

I meant to ask you this yesterday, do they have to show in Kentucky, too to get the money off the points?

It is based on AQHA Points, but the points can be gotten anywhere! Not just Kentucky, I wish my Yella colt could be in it. He would be a gelding and not for sale.. Cha Ching! Sad

No, we do not have any really tuff horses here at all. We have a couple nice pleasure studs, Some pretty tuff Barrel Stallions that Yep, they have kicked butt from Congress to world, but as far as a Halter, Horse no, a couple that were in Tuckers Field but not what I call Big time , One really nice Pleasure stallion, he has placed at Congress and world One that is producing nice foals. But that is about it.
But I see things getting ready to break open, Going stud shopping the week end. No Not happy about it, but Maybe the time to rethink things AGAIN! affraid For once I can see a profit even if its just for a little while.

They are saying on PHJ that a lot of people are going to send their studs to stand in KY just to get in on this!

Yeah I read that too RR and then the pay out will adjust accordingly still will be good I suspect better than the incentive fund. They mentioned a Sky Blue Boy son and a big name pleasure horse stallion that are moving there. I guess paints are getting $500.00 a point this year pretty sweet $. Wish I lived in KY. They mentioned they thought it would help to even drive the price of real estate wouldnt doubt it.

I think it will be really interesting to see the effects in the next year or 2 like someone said it wont make much diff with the pleasure or hus studs cause they cant earn pts for several yrs the halter people can make a profit quicker in this deal. Go for it! Esp since you have a horse this year bred and ready to foal in the spring man you are 3 steps ahead!!!

It will be interesting, I know some halter breeders here were chatting of it earlier this year...breeders will find a way to get into it even if out of state.. It sounds like a nice payout if it works. afro

Just don't go too wild! Figure what, three years of good times, and then the money starts falling... course even at $500 a point, that's still good, ya know! I so wish I was a realtor in Kentucky - gosh almighty, those folks are fixing to make a killing!
