Okay, I am officially freaking out! It looks like the hurricane is coming my way AGAIN! I do not want another 16 hour trip with horses in a trailer!
Shiela, I may need to hit you up for a place to run and hide! Shocked

I have been trying to reach my daughter in Chorpus area to see if they have any flooding. And, now I can add Dean to my list of things to worry about. If you gotta run you best get after it.. This stuff scares me as much as 7C snakes.. At least be ready to go if he turns and heads your way. affraid

I hear you - I figure that Hempstead and Bellville are far enough west (a solid 80-100 miles from the coast)

I just worry about my broodmare - but worst case scenario I can bring her into a stall...

I dunno though - out in the open in her paddock or in a stall???

With Rita we were a little antsy and loaded 3 of the kids up and dropped them off at my dad's place...

Heck, I didn't even know one was coming... I know they've had some flooding down in Houston. One sister's in Houston, one's left this morning to work in Lufkin or Nacogdoches - forget which...

But, sure, Cindy, load up ... got plenty of room in the pastures here!!!!

Standing invitation... any of you down south need a place to go, just come on. Might not be able to put them in the barn, but I've got plenty of grass and pasture. So everybody needs to keep my e-mail ... rspaint@earthlink.net, or just call me at (903) 725-3075, tell me you're on your way, and I'll have things ready for ya when ya get here.

I'm oh, about 4 hours from Houston. And if all the hotels are booked, I've got enough kin around here to put ya somewhere, plus lots of other mattresses.

Last bad one down there, we had 3 of Rick's employees come up and stay...

Oh man, I feel bad for you guys!!!!!!! No rain up here for almost 6 months!!! In my part of the country, you either fry from the range fires, or broil from the sun!!!!!!! It won't start cooling off here for at least another month. Stay safe everyone!!!!!!!!!

So glad that it's going to miss you, I wish I lived closer so that I could help you guys out.

We would gladly take some of your rain, we've had just over 3 inches of rain since June 2006. Our usual rain amount for that time is 14 inches.

I think you all need to move to Oregon.. And, 7c, can I come back and sleep on your recliner and you can cook for me Question bounce

I am so worried about all of you. My daughter is right near the gulf in Chorpus.. Those dang things can get mean and go where ever they want too.. Cept here. The water is too cold for them. They would freeze their butts off.. lol! Talked to a man in New Orleans and they all have that 3rd eye watching. I love those people and hope they never have to go thru what they did ever again.. I love you

Sure... any time. We might get some wind up here, but that's about it.

Oh, Bluejay, got a funny for ya, regarding snakes. So Rick's been out mowing the pastures... said he was down below the pond, and saw a huge water moccasin, he ran over it, at the same time, something touched him on the back of the neck, and he liked to have left the tractor, said he had rows all over the place.

It's his birthday today, by the way... and he's already out on the tractor - you know, a play toy!

I'm telling ya, my grown ones here, get down right cuckoo when they see a snake... all this screaming and yelling... and I'm like, everybody SHUT UP, just kill the danged thing! Criminey.

And if the boys see a spider...the heck with Little Miss Muffett... funniest thing I've ever seen!

Laughing

I have decided that I don't like things that have too many legs or not enough legs!

no snakes, no spiders -- you can have two legs or four legs! That's It!

Amputees and caterpillars are the only exceptions!
