I'm embarrassed to even say this, but I thought I'd throw it out and see if anyone has any suggestions...
I went through a LOT of trials and tribulations with my two previous show horses, and now I have Janie, who is just a dream come true. Well, whenever she starts giving me a really good ride (at home AND in the show pen), I get so emotional that I just start bawling!! Especially when she is loping and gets her head down and her back up, I completely lose it!! I mean, blubbering and sniffling and the whole bit. WHAT SHOULD I DO, LOL?????

OMG, my trainer thinks I'm a total head case. She's like Sheree, what is WRONG with you, she did great! And I'm all bawling and saying I know, I know!

I probably got the same look from my hubby that you got from your trainer.

Last time I cried while riding was about a month ago. Splash had just had his joint injections and was doing his wonderful floaty trot, he was in frame and he just felt amazing.

That same night, when we went to roping, he whinnied as we were running down the arena. That one made me laugh, he'll often squeel when he's excited to rope but that's the first time he's whinnied. He made me laugh and cry the same night, I gotta say though it's tough to rope when you're laughing.
lol!

Actually, I know exactly what you mean. See, I went through all of my childhood wanting a show horse so bad, I just wanted to do something with horses, outside of trail riding. Well, Scotch has been my first real show horse, and I still remember the feeling I got when I took him to his first show, and we did so well, I bawled. Everyone asked me, "What's wrong? You did great!" I still do it, when we're having a good day, even at home, and he works like the smart boy he does, makes me wanna bawl because I'm so proud of him and what we've achieved. You have good reason to be proud of Janie, she's such a nice girl and you're such a good mom Smile I bet you're going to bawl a lot with her lol.

Sheree, I think that's great... these are emotional times... you think that's bad, wait until you win your class - might want to prepare somebody to come pick you up off the ground... I know the first time I did well, I had tears streaming down my face coming out of the arena... felt like an idgit later, but dang, I'd worked my hindend off for that!

I do have to admit that when i was showing my quarter horse gelding and we worked so freaking hard all year for state 4-H show. I must say that showing at state was pretty tough. anyways, we worked all year to make sure we where perfect for state, i went to a trainer once a week and practiced every day, well time for state for W/P, and we won our class out of 45 people. I was so happy i started bawling. my hard work finally paid off! my trainer was standing out side the ring and i hugged him so hard. i was so extremly happy.

I went thru what you're talking about with Charlie when we won state, but Phenom's been on the receiving end too... it was the first time we won a class at AQHA Regionals, I just looked into this huge eye lined up with mine, got a lump in my throat, and hugged his big ol' head.... Laughing

AWWWWwwwww...! GROUP HUG! cheers

I've never had a horse before that just thinking about riding it makes the hair on my arms stand up. Hopefully one day you all will be watching me and Janie on that World Show live feed.

My mare has made me cry all summer, she spent three weeks with a reining trainer who she didn't get along with. When I finally was able to see him ride her I cried, when she was tied in the stall and she put her head on my shoulder like "don't leave me here mom" I cried. When she came home and her stop was gone, her lope was gone, and she fought the bit constantly, I cried. We spent a lot of time this summer just playing around, and by the middle of July we loping around, great circles, not fighting the bit, I asked her to stop and she slid and walked about 4 feet. I just sat there and bawled, I was so happy.
I know just how you feel about Janie, that is how I feel about Bella, she is my once in a lifetime horse, the one that is just that much better than all the rest, the one that is going to take me places. (Sorry this was so long)

I had been having problems with Pep and went to this one show where we had an awesome pattern. Got first and starting crying in front on everyone. I was embarrassed, but it was a great feeling.
